Campbell House (Toronto)
Campbell House is an 1822 heritage house and museum in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was built for Upper Canada Chief Justice Sir William Campbell and his wife Hannah. The home was designed for entertaining and comfort, and constructed at a time when the Campbells were socially and economically established and their children had grown to adulthood. The house is one of the few remaining examples of Georgian architecture left in Toronto and is constructed in a style in vogue during the late Georgian era known as Palladian architecture. History The house was originally located on a plot of land southeast of its current location, at the intersection of what is now Adelaide Street (then 64 Duke Street) and Frederick Street. Ticknor-Campbell House
The Cobblestone Farm and Museum, which includes the Dr. Benajah Ticknor House (also known as the Ticknor-Campbell House) is an historical museum located at 2781 Packard Road in Ann Arbor Michigan. The museum gets its name from the cobblestone used to build the farmhouse. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972 and designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1973. History The site of the Cobblestone Farm had been a farm as far back as 1824 and remained an operating farm well into the late 20th century. Ezra Maynard originally cleared the land on which the farm now sits. In 1835, Maynard sold the property to Heman Ticknor, who purchased it on behalf of his brother, naval surgeon Dr. Benajah Ticknor. William Campbell House (Stamping Ground, Kentucky)
The William Campbell House in Stamping Ground, Kentucky, also known as the Campbell-Gayle House, is an early house believed to have been built in c.1790-1800. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is notable as a "unique early house of brick nogging-filled half timber construction with a beaded clapboard-covered main facade and a steeply pitched roof." with The exterior of the brick nogging (infill between the timbers) is plastered with stucco while the timbers are not; this is unusual as the only house in Kentucky known to have this feature. The by house also has a steep roof and just one window each for the two front rooms. The appearance of the house is much like historic Colonial dwellings in the eastern colonies. The construction is thus dated to pioneer era and perhaps the 18th century.
