Camp Tel Hai
Camp Tel Hai (Hebrew: מחנה תל חי ''makhane tel khai'') was an early summer camp kvutza of the Chicago chapter of the Habonim youth movement and one of the first summer camps of Habonim in North America. Founded in 1935 near New Buffalo, Michigan on the site of an old Farband summer camp that had been damaged by fire, Tel Hai operated for ten years before being destroyed by fire around 1945. Summer Camp
A summer camp or sleepaway camp is a supervised program for children conducted during the summer months in some countries. Children and adolescents who attend summer camp are known as ''campers''. Summer school is usually a part of the academic curriculum for a student to make up work not accomplished during the academic year (summer camps can include academic work, but is not a requirement for graduation). Kvutza
Kvutza, kevutza or kevutzah ( "group") is a communal settlement among Jews, primarily in pre-state Israel, the word was used in reference to communal life. First there were ''kvutzot'' (plural of kvutza) in the sense of groups of young people with similar ideals living and working together; and after 1909 and for many years to follow, in the sense of collective settlements created by such groups. The kvutza collective settlement was distinguished from the ''kibbutz'' settlement in that it intended to remain small and mainly agricultural, whereas the larger kibbutzim were intended to expand with agriculture, industry and other productive pursuits. Habonim Dror
Habonim Dror ( he, הַבּוֹנִים דְּרוֹר, "the builders–freedom") is the evolution of two Jewish Labour Zionist youth movements that merged in 1982. Habonim ( he, הַבּוֹנִים, "the builders") was founded in 1929 in the United Kingdom and over a period of years, spread to all English-speaking countries. Each country developed its own independent version of the original movement whilst sharing the core ideology of being a Jewish Socialist-Zionist cultural youth movement. Dror ( he, דְּרוֹר, "freedom") was founded in Poland in 1915 out of a wing of the ''Tze'irei Tziyon'' (Zion Youth) study circle.
