Camogie All Stars
The Camogie All Star Awards are awarded each November to 15 players who have made outstanding contributions to the Irish stick and ball team sport of camogie in the 15 traditional positions on the field: goalkeeper, three full backs, three half-backs, two midfields, three half-forwards and three full-forwards. They were awarded for the first time in 2003 as an independent initiative sponsored by a hotel group and accorded official status by the Camogie Association in 2004. In 2004 a team of the century was also chosen to commemorate the centenary of the sport. O'Neill's are the present title sponsors of the awards. The leading awards winner is Gemma O'Connor of Cork with eleven awards. Camogie
Camogie ( ; ga, camógaíocht ) is an Irish stick-and-ball team sport played by women. Camogie is played by 100,000 women in Ireland and worldwide, largely among Irish communities. Emer Dillon
Emer Dillon born 1984 in Cork is a camogie player and a marketing executive, winner of All Ireland camogie medals in 2002, 2005, 2006, and 2009 and a camogie All Star in 2005. Emer was selected as player of the match in the 2005 All-Ireland Senior final. She is also a prominent hockey player and has represented both Munster and Ireland. She holds a Senior county championship medal with Carrigdhoun and also Junior and under-age championship honours with Ballygarvan. Jennifer O’Leary is a camogie player, winner of eight All-Star awards in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 . She won All Ireland medals with Cork in 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2014 and National League medals in 2003, 2006, 2007, when her late point secured victory for Cork, 2012 and 2013. Kate Kelly is a camogie player, winner of nine All-Star awards in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016. In 2007, she helped Wexford win their first All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship in 32 years. and further All Ireland medals in 2010, 2011 and 2012 when she was player of the match in the All Ireland final. Mary Leacy (born March 2, 1986 in Oulart, County Wexford) is an Irish people, Irish sportsperson. She won Camogie All Stars, camogie All Star awards in Camogie All Stars#2004, 2004, Camogie All Stars#2007, 2007 and 2010. Aoife Murray (born 1984 in Dunmanway) is a Camogie player and quantity surveyor based in Cork, winner of All Ireland medals in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018. Deirdre Hughes is a former camogie player selected on the camogie team of the century in 2004, and winner of All Ireland medals in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2004. Background She came to prominence when Toomevara won the Tipperary County Minor championship three years in a row, and won six successive senior county championships. She was a prominent member of the Tipperary team that won the Junior All Ireland in 1991 and captained the Intermediate team to All Ireland success in 1997.
