Cameroon vs Colombia was a FIFA World Cup match that took place in the Stadio San Paolo in Naples, Italy on 23 June 1990, during the 1990 World Cup. Cameroon won 2–1, thus becoming the first African team to win a World Cup knockout match. Overview For both teams it was the first participation in the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup: Cameroon got there by winning Group B, Colombia instead obtained the qualification as one of the best third-placed teams. The game was decided in extra time; Milla, who came in the 54th minute, went to score after 106 and 109 minutes. In his second goal, Milla took the ball from the goalkeeper Higuita who was trying to dribble him near the halfway line. Redín pulled one back for Colombia after 115 minutes but it wasn't enough, and Cameroon became the first African nation to reach the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup. Stadio Diego Armando Maradona (formerly known as Stadio San Paolo) is a stadium in the western Fuorigrotta suburb of Naples, Italy. Luis Carlos "Coroncoro" Perea (born 29 December 1963) is a Colombian former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Club career Perea was born in Turbo. During his career he played mainly with Independiente Medellín, where he would debut in 1983, and Atlético Nacional, but also had brief spells with Atlético Junior and Deportes Tolima. Valery Kuzmich Nepomnyashchy (russian: Валерий Кузьмич Непомнящий; born 7 August 1943) is a Russian association football manager and a former player. Jacques Celestin Songo'o (born 17 March 1964) is a Cameroonian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper, and is the current goalkeeper coach of the Cameroon national team. Bonaventure Djonkep
Bonaventure Djonkep (born 20 August 1961) is a former Cameroonian association football player and coach. Djonkep spent his entire playing career between the 1982 and 1995 at Union Douala, winning one Cameroonian League title in 1990 and one Cameroonian Cup in 1985. Internationally Djonkep first played for Cameroon U20 at the 1981 FIFA World Youth Championship, appearing in all three of their group matches and scoring two goals against Australia U20. As a full international he appeared in two qualifying matches for the 1986 FIFA World Cup against Zambia in April 1985. Emmanuel Jérôme Kundé (born 15 July 1956) is a Cameroonian former professional footballer who played as a defender. He spent the majority of his professional career playing for Canon Yaoundé. He was also a member of the Cameroon national team at the World Cups of 1982 and 1990, and won the 1984 and 1988 African Nations Cups. Cyrille Thomas Makanaky (born 28 June 1965) is a Cameroonian retired footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Club career Makanaky was born in Douala. After impressing at amateur level in France, with FC Saint-Leu and Gazélec Ajaccio, he represented, with little impact but always in Ligue 1, SC Toulon (twice) and RC Lens. François Omam-Biyik (born 21 May 1966) is a Cameroonian football manager and former player who works as assistant manager of Cameroon. Omam-Biyik also has French nationality. A forward, he was one of the most important players of the Cameroon national team in the nineties, playing at the three World Cups in 1990, 1994 and 1998. He played 73 international matches in total.
