Cameron Rahles Rahbula
Cameron Rahles-Rahbula (born 9 July 1983) is a former Paralympic alpine skier from Australia. He won two bronze medals at the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Vancouver. He represented Australia in four Paralympics, stating with the 2002 Winter Paralympics in Salt Lake City and the 2006 Winter Paralympics in Torino. He did not compete in any events at the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi due to knee and ankle injuries sustained during the warm up for the downhill event of the Games but carried the Australian flag (albeit on crutches) in the Parade of Nations at the Opening Ceremony. He also won two gold medals and a silver medal at the 2004 IPC Alpine Skiing World Championships in Wildschönau, Austria, and a gold and a bronze medal at the 2009 World Championships in Jeongseon, Korea. Camperdown () is a town in southwestern Victoria, Australia, west of the state capital, Melbourne. At the 2016 census, Camperdown had a population of 3,369. History The Djargurd Wurrung people were the traditional Aboriginal people of the Camperdown area, who had lived in the area for countless generations as a semi-nomadic hunter gatherer society. The first British settlers, the Manifold brothers (Thomas, John and Peter Manifold), arrived in the area from Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) after 1835 to establish sheep and cattle runs. Settlement was met with resistance by some of the local Aborigines, the Murdering Gully massacre taking place nearby. Emily Rahles-Rahbula (née Jansen) (born 19 December 1977) is a Para-alpine amputee skier from Australia. She competed at the 2006 Winter Paralympics in Torino, Italy and became Australia's first female Winter Paralympian. Personal Emily Jansen was born on 19 December 1977 in Geelong, Victoria. Jansen was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer in her second year of university in 1997, which resulted in the loss of her right leg above the knee. She has a Chemical Engineering/Science degree from University of Melbourne and has been employed as a chemical engineer. She married Australian para alpine skier Cameron Rahles-Rabula on 4 December 2010. They have two sons, named Archie and Finn. An osteosarcoma (OS) or osteogenic sarcoma (OGS) (or simply bone cancer) is a cancerous tumor in a bone. Wildschönau
Wildschönau is a municipality within the district of Kufstein in the state of Tyrol 6 km south of Wörgl. The 24 km long high valley near Wörgl is one of the district's tourist centers. Besides a few hamlets, the municipality consists of the four church villages ''Niederau, Oberau, Auffach and Thierbach'' and is situated in the Kitzbühel Alps. The opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics took place at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi, Russia, on 7 February 2014. It began at 20:14 MSK (UTC+4) and finished at 23:02 MSK (UTC+4). It was filmed and produced by OBS and Russian host broadcaster VGTRK. This was the first Winter Olympics and first Olympic Games opening ceremony under the IOC presidency of Thomas Bach. 2014 Winter Olympics Parade of Nations was part of the opening ceremony at the 2014 Winter Olympics. The national team from each nation participating in the Olympic Games was preceded by their national flag flag bearer into Fisht Olympic Stadium in the host city of Sochi, Russia. The flag bearer was an athlete of each national delegation chosen, to represent the athletes, either by the National Olympic Committee or by the national team.
