Camerata Romeu
Camerata Romeu is an all-female instrumentalist chamber music group founded and led by Zenaida Castro Romeu, orchestral director and composer from a family of Cuban performers and composers spanning several generations. The orchestra's musical focus is playing European style classical music while drawing on the popular rhythms of Cuba taken from Spanish, African and Latin American Indians. History Camerata Romeu toured Florida in 1998, and performed at the Respertorio Espanol. The group was nominated at the Latin Grammy Awards of 2003 for the Best Flamenco Album and at the Latin Grammy Award for Best Classical Contemporary Composition in 2008. Latin Grammy Awards Of 2003
The 4th Annual Latin Grammy Awards were held in Miami at the American Airlines Arena on Wednesday, September 3, 2003. It was the first time the telecast was held outside of Los Angeles. Juanes was the night's biggest winner winning a record five awards including Album of the Year. He tied his own record winning five awards again five years later in 2008. Juan Luis Guerra and Calle 13 also tied this record in 2007 and 2009 respectively. Awards Winners are in bold text. The Latin Grammy Award for Best Classical Contemporary Composition is given every year since the 9th Latin Grammy Awards ceremony, which took place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The description of the category at the 2020 Latin Grammy Awards states that it is "for new vocal and instrumental recordings of original works or compositions that have been composed within the last twenty-five (25) years (a work/composition IS NOT eligible if it was composed before 1995), and that were released for the first time during the Eligibility Period." The award goes to the composer(s). Cecilia Domeyko
Cecilia Domeyko is a Chilean-American author, journalist, filmmaker, former broadcaster, and philanthropist based in Washington D.C. She is the president and founder of Accent Media as well as the founder and director of the Mariposa Cultural Foundation.
