Cambridge F.C. is a football club based in Cambridge, New Zealand. It currently plays in the NRFL Division 2. In 2020, Cambridge finished 8th in a season shortened by restrictions to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, they came 5th in the league. The club had won promotion to the league in 2017 after a two-legged play-off series against Auckland's Beachlands Maraetai. They were the 2017 and 2015 champions of the WaiBOP Premiership, run by the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Football Federation. Waipa District
Waipa District is a municipality in the Waikato region of New Zealand that is administered by the Waipa District Council. Its most populous town is Cambridge. The seat of the council is at the second most populous town, Te Awamutu. The district is south and south-east of the city of Hamilton. It has five wards: Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Pirongia, Maungatautari and Kakepuku. Although the official name remains Waipa District, the council sought in 2020 a simpler means of changing to Waipā District, which is the orthographic form it uses. Chatham Cup
The Chatham Cup is New Zealand's premier knockout tournament in men's association football. It is held annually, with the final contested in September. The current champions of the Chatham Cup are 2022 winners Auckland City, who defeated Eastern Suburbs 1–0 in the final. History The Chatham Cup is contested by teams from throughout New Zealand, and has been held annually since 1923 with the exception of 1937 and 1941–44. Typically between 120 and 150 teams take part, with extra time and penalty shoot-outs used to decide matches which end in ties. Andrea Rogers
Andrea Rogers is a former association football player who represented New Zealand at international level. Rogers spent her early years playing in Hamilton New Zealand with Western United and Claudelands Rovers before moving to England where she played for Arsenal L.F.C. until retiring in 2003. She returned to playing on her return to New Zealand, playing for Claudelands Rovers. She came out of retirement in 2005 to join an 'oldies' team at Rovers, then returned to their Northern League side for a few years. Maria Anderton
Maria Anderton (born 14 January 1969) is a former association football player who represented New Zealand at international level. Anderton scored on her Football Ferns début after coming on as a substitute in a 7–0 win over Trinidad & Tobago on 8 August 1993, and finished her international career with four caps and one goal to her credit. Her other international appearances were against Brazil, the USSR and Ghana. She began playing football as a 10-year-old primary school student in Gordonton, Waikato District, and then at Fairfield College, Hamilton, New Zealand. Christopher Grant Wood (born 7 December 1991) is a New Zealand professional footballer who plays as a striker for club Newcastle United and the New Zealand national team. Queen's Service Medal
The Queen's Service Medal is a medal awarded by the government of New Zealand to recognise and reward volunteer service to the community and also public service in elected or appointed public office. It was established in 1975 and is related to the Queen's Service Order. The QSM replaced the Imperial Service Medal as an award of New Zealand. Appearance 1975–2007 The original medal was made of sterling silver, in diameter. The obverse bears the same effigy of The Queen as the badge of the Queen's Service Order. Surrounding the effigy are the Royal styles and titles "ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D.". The reverse depicts the New Zealand Coat of Arms surrounded by the inscription "The Queen's Service Medal" and the name of the sub-division either "for Community Service" or "for Public Services".
