Camberg
Bad Camberg () is, with 14,500 inhabitants, the second largest town in Limburg-Weilburg district in Hesse, Germany, as well as the southernmost town in the ''Regierungsbezirk'' of Gießen. It is located in the eastern Taunus in the ''Goldener Grund'' (“Golden Ground”) some 30 km north of Wiesbaden, 18 km southeast of Limburg an der Lahn, and 44 km northwest of Frankfurt, as well as on the German Timber-Frame Road. Bad Camberg is the central community of the ''Goldener Grund'' with good infrastructure, and a lower centre partly with a middle centre's function. The recognized Kneipp resort is Hesse's oldest and Germany's third oldest. In the outlying centre of Oberselters is found a mineral spring that gives forth the well known ''Selterswasser'', often known in English as “seltzer”. The town's landmark is the '' Kreuzkapelle''. Kreuzkapelle, Bad Camberg
The Kreuzkapelle () is a chapel of the Feast of the Cross, Holy Cross, a Catholic Church, Catholic pilgrimage church in Bad Camberg, Hesse, Germany, dedicated to the Christian cross, Holy Cross. It is a landmark of the town, located on higher ground to the north-east. A ''Kreuzweg'' with stations of the Cross leads from Bad Camberg to the chapel. History The chapel was built from 1681 to 1683 on a ridge running north-east out of Bad Camberg, overlooking the area and the town. It was initiated by the Hohenfeld family, which also built a ' with stations of the Cross around 1700, leading from Camberg up to the chapel. The chapel was first built as an octagon located where the Choir (architecture), choir is now. It was expanded in 1725 to a symmetrical central building (''Zentralbau'') shaped like a Greek cross. Selters (Taunus) is a municipality with 8,000 inhabitants north of Bad Camberg in Limburg-Weilburg district in Hesse, Germany. Geography Location The greater part of the Selters municipal area with the centres of Niederselters, Eisenbach, Münster and Haintchen lies in the area of the Eastern Hintertaunus north of the Taunus' main ridge, at elevations from 170 to 500 m. In terms of natural environments, the main centre, Niederselters, also belongs to the southeastern part of the Limburg Basin. giving it a connection to the valley landscape of the Lahn. Idstein
Idstein () is a town of about 25,000 inhabitants in the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis in the ''Regierungsbezirk'' of Darmstadt (region), Darmstadt in Hesse, Germany. Because of its well preserved historical Altstadt (Old Town) it is part of the ''Deutsche Fachwerkstraße'' (German Timber-Frame Road), connecting towns with fine Fachwerk (Germany), fachwerk buildings and houses. Taunus
The Taunus () is a mountain range in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, located north west of Frankfurt and north of Wiesbaden. The tallest peak in the range is '' Großer Feldberg'' at 878 m; other notable peaks are '' Kleiner Feldberg'' (825 m) and '' Altkönig'' (798 m). German Timber-Frame Road
The German Timber-Frame Road () is a German tourist route leading from the river Elbe in the north to the Black Forest and Lake Constance in the south. Numerous cities and towns each with examples of the vernacular Timber framing, timber-framed houses traditional to the Holy Roman Empire, German states are situated along the road.
