Adolfo Camarillo High School (ACHS) is a public high school in Camarillo, California established 1956. The school is part of the Oxnard Union High School District and serves students in grades 9–12 in east Camarillo, Somis, and the Santa Rosa Valley. ACHS is named for Adolfo Camarillo, a prominent Californio ranchero and founder of the city which bears his name; he donated part of Rancho Calleguas for the high school. It was recognized as a California Distinguished School in 1996 and in 2009 and a National Blue Ribbon School in 1998. Jeff Nelson (runner)
Jeff Nelson is an American former long distance runner. He was a high school phenom at Burbank High School (Burbank, California), where he set the national high school record in the 2 mile run, the predecessor to today's 3200 meter run, at 8:36.3. He set the record before a national television audience, running in open competition at the Pepsi Invitational, May 6, 1979 at the University of California, Los Angeles. The record would stand until June 20, 2008, when it was surpassed by German Fernandez from Riverbank High School, who ran an 8:34.40 at the Nike Outdoor Nationals. Fernandez had run an 8:34.23 for 3200 meters three weeks earlier at the CIF California State Meet, which was a faster time for the slightly shorter distance. Kim Mortensen
Kimberly Mortensen is the girl's individual winner of the 1995 Footlocker Cross Country Championships and a former national high school record holder in the 3200 meter run. In December of 1995, Mortensen capped off a successful senior cross country season by winning the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships 5K in 17:12:4 at Balboa Park in San Diego, California. On May 24, 1996 she ran 9:48.59 in the 3200 meter race for the California CIF-Southern Sections Masters track and field meet, run at Cerritos College in Norwalk, California. Christine Babcock
Christine Babcock is a two-time all-American collegiate athlete in the United States. She is an Oiselle professional athlete and is best known for being one of only a few high school athletes to compete in the 2008 US Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon and for setting two national high school records at the distances of 1500 and 1600 meters. Duane Renard Solomon (born December 28, 1984) is a retired American Olympic track athlete, primarily known for racing the 800 meters. He ran for his home country in the IAAF World Championships in 2007 and 2013 as well as in the 2012 Olympic Games. Jordan Melissa Hasay (born September 21, 1991) is an American distance runner. She grew up in Arroyo Grande, California, and attended Mission College Preparatory High School in San Luis Obispo. She was unanimously selected 2008 Girls High School Athlete of the Year by the voting panel at ''Track and Field News''. In March 2009, she became the ninth high school athlete and third woman on the cover of ''Track and Field News'' magazine.
