Calum Forrester
Calum Forrester (born 3 October 1986) is a Scottish rugby union coach who formerly played professionally for Glasgow Warriors. He also played for the Scotland 7s and Scotland A national teams. Early life Forrester attended Hutchesons Grammar School. He had two years at Glasgow University studying sports science and also enrolled in the Open University. Forrester was a member of Scottish Rugby's National Rugby Academy and has a Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award. International career Forrester was a member of the Scotland Sevens squad for the 2004 Commonwealth Youth Games in Bendigo, Australia. He made his national team debut during the 2005–06 IRB Sevens World Series, playing in the 2006 London Sevens and Edinburgh Sevens tournaments. Glasgow Hutchesons Aloysians Rugby Football Club, often abbreviated to GHA and colloquially referred to as ''G-HA!!'' , is a rugby union club based in the Giffnock area of East Renfrewshire, Scotland. The club plays its home matches at Braidholm and currently competes in the Scottish Premiership, the top tier of Scottish club rugby. History The club was established by the 2002 merger between Glasgow Southern RFC and Hutchesons' - Aloysians' RFC. The former club was originally known as Clarkston but was renamed in 1995 with the ambition of creating the premier side on the south side of Glasgow. London Sevens
The London Sevens is an annual rugby sevens tournament held at Twickenham Stadium in London. It is part of the World Rugby Sevens Series. London was added to the World Series for the first time in 2001. For many years the London Sevens was the last tournament of each season but the Paris Sevens became the last stop on the calendar in 2018. The current titleholder of the London Sevens are Australia, who beat New Zealand in the 2022 final. The London Sevens is one of the more popular stops on the World Series. The 2011 London Sevens set a single-day attendance record of over 54,000 fans, surpassing the attendance record set by the Dubai Sevens. Melrose Sevens
Melrose Sevens is an annual rugby sevens event held by Melrose Rugby Club, at The Greenyards in Melrose, Scotland. It is the oldest rugby sevens competition in the world, dating back to 1883 when the tournament was suggested by former Melrose player Ned Haig. English side London Scottish are the current champions after beating Edinburgh Accies 29–12 in the 2019 final to win the event for the first time since 1965. History Held every April, the tournament is part of the Kings of the Sevens competition, and has attracted teams from as far afield as Japan, Hong Kong, Uruguay and South Africa. From 2018 the playing time in the final was cut from twenty minutes to fourteen minutes which is in line with the standard match time. In September 2019 the organisers had set out plans for the Melrose Sevens to relaunch as a four-day festival of music and rugby. Cardiff Rugby ( cy, Rygbi Caerdydd) are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union teams. They compete in the United Rugby Championship and in European Professional Club Rugby competitions. 2009 IRB Nations Cup
The 2009 IRB Nations Cup was the fourth edition of the international rugby union tournament, a competition created by the International Rugby Board. It pits the "A" Teams of the stronger (Tier 1) rugby nations (France A, Italy A and Scotland A) against some of the Tier 2 and 3 nations (Romania, Russia and Uruguay). For the third consecutive year the event was held in Bucharest, Romania. Emerging Springboks did not return to defend their title. Scotland A were the overall winners of the tournament.
