Callum Carson
Callum Iestyn Carson (born 13 March 1999) is a Welsh rugby union player, currently playing for Welsh Premier Division side Aberavon. His preferred position is centre. On 10 June 2022, Carson was announced by Aberavon to be the newest addition to their squad. Ospreys Carson has represented Wales at both U20 level and more recently in Sevens, participating in two tournaments of the 2019–20 World Rugby Sevens Series. He was named in the Ospreys side for Round 4 of the 2020–21 Pro14 against Zebre. On 1 July 2022, Carson was officially released by the Ospreys for the involvement in an incident revolving around the mocking of a rough sleeper. Centre (rugby Union)
In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Players that play multiple positions are called "utility players". Forwards compete for the ball in scrums and line-outs and are generally bigger and stronger than the backs. Props push in the scrums, while the hooker tries to secure the ball for their team by "hooking" it back with their heel. 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens – Women's Tournament
The women's tournament for the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens was held in Cape Town, South Africa from September 9 to 11 at the Cape Town Stadium. Teams The four semi-finalists from the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens were automatic qualifiers, with South Africa also qualifying as host. The osprey (''Pandion haliaetus''), , also called sea hawk, river hawk, and fish hawk, is a diurnal, fish-eating bird of prey with a cosmopolitan range. Aberavon RFC ( cy, Clwb Rygbi Aberafan) is a rugby union club located in the Welsh town of Port Talbot, though the club's name refers to the older settlement of Aberavon which lies on the western side of the town. The 2020–21 PRO14 (also known as the ''Guinness PRO14'' for sponsorship reasons) was the twentieth season of the professional rugby union competition originally known as the Celtic League. It was the fourth season to be referred to as the ''PRO14'' (the competition was named the ''Pro12'' immediately prior to the addition of two South African teams). 2019–20 World Rugby Sevens Series
The 2019–20 World Rugby Sevens Series was the 21st annual series of rugby sevens tournaments for national men's rugby sevens teams. The Sevens Series has been run by World Rugby since 1999–2000. In March 2020, World Rugby postponed all remaining tournaments in the series due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The events in London and Paris were postponed provisionally until September, preceding the Singapore and Hong Kong events previously postponed until October. On 30 June, the remaining four rounds of the series was cancelled which meant that New Zealand was awarded the title by 11 points over second place South Africa.
