Donald Callis (born October 13, 1963) is a Canadian professional wrestling manager, color commentator, and former professional wrestler and business executive. He is signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he works as the on-screen manager of Kenny Omega and as a backstage consultant. A former wrestler, Callis spent the majority of his career performing as either Cyrus (shortened from Cyrus the Virus) or Don Callis. He first gained international attention working under the name The Jackyl for the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). While in the WWF, Callis managed a group known as The Truth Commission and later managed The Oddities and The Acolytes before being released in 1999. Ann Callis is a former chief judge of Illinois's Third Judicial Circuit. A member of the Democratic Party, she was the Democratic candidate to represent Illinois's 13th congressional district in the 2014 federal elections. Early life and education Callis received both her bachelor's degreemagna cum laude and her law degree from St. Louis University. Callis is a native of Granite City, Illinois and is the daughter of deceased attorney and Democratic Party activist Lance Callis. John Benton Callis (January 3, 1828September 24, 1898) was an American businessman, politician, and Wisconsin pioneer. He served as a Union Army officer during the American Civil War and was then elected as a reconstruction-era U.S. congressman from Alabama. He later served in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Early life Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Callis moved to Tennessee in 1834 with his parents, who settled in Carroll County, and thence, in 1840, to Lancaster, Wisconsin Territory. He attended the common schools in the Wisconsin Territory, though quite primitive in his days. For several years, he studied medicine under Dr. J. H. Higgins of Lancaster, but ultimately abandoned that work. He went to Minnesota for work in 1848, where he was employed on the construction of Fort Ripley. Jo Ann Callis (born 1940) is an American artist who works with photography and is based in California. Her work is held in various public collections. Life and work Callis was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Though she initially pursued a degree at Ohio State University in 1958, she dropped out in her second year when she got married. She and her husband moved to Southern California in 1961. Her father died after the birth of her first son, Stephen, in the same year. In 1963, her second son Michael was born. Henry Arthur Callis (January 14, 1887 – November 12, 1974) was a physician and one of the seven founders (''commonly referred to as The Seven Jewels'') of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity at Cornell University in 1906. Callis co-authored the fraternity name with George Kelley and became the only Jewel to become General President of the fraternity (1915). Callis assisted in the organization of several chapters, including Xi Lambda Chapter (1924) in Chicago. John Callis (pirate)
John Callis (or Calles) (died 1576) was a 16th-century Welsh pirate. He was active in South Wales from Cardiff to Haverfordwest, often selling his prizes and cargo in the villages of Laugharne and Carew in Milford Haven, only a few miles south of Little Newcastle, Wales. His piratical career lasted for decades before pressure from neighbouring countries forced the government of England to take action and managed to capture him in 1576. The elderly pirate attempted to assist authorities in tracking down other pirates in exchange for his release, however the authorities refused his offer and he was hanged in Newport later that year.
