Calling Darkness
''Calling Darkness'' is a Comedy horror, horror comedy podcast written by Gemma Amor and S.H.Cooper. It was co-created by S.H.Cooper, Gemma Amor, Victoria Juan, Allison Brandt, Desdymona Howard, and Charlotte Norup who each play characters in an ensemble cast. Kate Siegel narrated the first season. The first season was released in 2019 and the second season in 2023. Premise Four women go to Crowe House, an isolated manor, for acting lessons from Annabelle Crowe. They are joined by Annabelle's visiting cousin, Nadia. The group read a book which accidentally summons a demon. They try to escape Crowe House and defeat the demon with help from a priest and his friend. Gemma Amor
Gemma Amor is a British author of horror fiction, podcaster, and illustrator. She has written two collections of short stories, five novels, and edited a collection of stories. Amor co-wrote ''Calling Darkness'' and has contributed to other podcasts including ''The NoSleep Podcast'' and ''Shadows at the Door: The Podcast, Shadows at the Door''. Career Amor's first experience of writing horror fiction for publication came through ''The NoSleep Podcast''. She began listening to the show after it was mentioned on ''The Black Tapes'' and responded to a call for submissions. The first story she submitted to the show was "His Life's Work" which was released as part of season 10 in 2018. Later that year Amor released ''Cruel Works of Nature,'' a collection of Short story, short stories, some of which had appeared on ''The NoSleep Podcast''. Kate Gordon Siegelbaum, known professionally as Kate Siegel ( , born 9 August 1982), is an American actress and screenwriter. ''The NoSleep Podcast'' is an anthology horror fiction podcast. History overview NoSleep began as a subreddit, or forum, on Reddit where people would exchange scary stories and frightening experiences. With the popularity of NoSleep, a member named Matt Hensen proposed the idea of creating a podcast where the top stories from the NoSleep subreddit would be narrated in an audiobook style. The idea was well received and a few months later a small group of members released the first episode of The NoSleep Podcast. During their first two seasons, David Cummings assumed the role of host and producer, working with volunteer Redditors to help narrate and produce content for the show.
