Ann Hampton Callaway (born May 30, 1958) is an American jazz singer, songwriter, and actress. She wrote and sang the theme song for the TV series ''The Nanny''. Career A native of Chicago, her father, John Callaway, was a journalist and her mother was a singer, pianist, and vocal coach. She learned scat singing from her father and a love of jazz from his record collection, and she learned classical music from her mother. Her sister, Liz Callaway, is a singer and actress on Broadway. Richard Callaway (umpire)
Richard Callaway (2 August 1860 – 19 March 1935 at Sydney, New South Wales) was an Australian Test cricket umpire. Callaway's younger brother Sydney played Test cricket for Australia. Callaway umpired 31 first-class matches between 1899 and 1921. He officiated in three Test matches between Australia and England in the 1901/02 season. Umpiring threatened to be controversial in this series, with England captain Archie MacLaren demanding the right to appoint one of the two umpires for the first Test match, at Sydney from 13 December 1901; the New South Wales Cricket Association at first passed a resolution asserting its right to appoint both umpires, but then rescinded the resolution while confirming Callaway as its umpire for the match. In the event, MacLaren did not pursue his demand, and Callaway stood with Bob Crockett from the Victorian Cricket Association umpires' list in a match which England won by an innings. Richard Callaway
Richard Callaway (June 14, 1717 – November 8, 1780) was an American frontiersman, military officer, politician, and hunter who was one of the first white settlers in modern-day Kentucky. Born in Essex County, Virginia, Callaway joined Daniel Boone in 1775 in marking the Wilderness Road into central Kentucky, becoming one of the founders of Boonesborough, Kentucky. He took part in organizing the short-lived Transylvania Colony. In 1776, two of Callaway's daughters, along with Daniel Boone's Jemima, were abducted outside Boonesborough by Cherokee and Shawnee raiding party. Callaway led one of a group of settlers in the successful rescue of the girls. His nephew Flanders Callaway later married Jemima Boone. In April 1777, Callaway and John Todd were elected to the Virginia legislature as burgesses from Kentucky County, Virginia. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Norman Callaway
Norman Frank Callaway (5 April 1896 – 3 May 1917) was an Australian first class cricketer and Australian Imperial Force (AIF) soldier. Born in Hay, New South Wales to Thomas and Emily, Callaway moved to Sydney and played for Sydney grade cricket teams Paddington and Waverley. He scored a double century in his one and only first-class cricket match. He was killed in action during World War I.
