CallPlus
CallPlus was a telecommunications company providing phone, calling, internet, mobile and advanced connectivity services to New Zealand businesses. Since 2016, CallPlus has been part of the Vocus Group, which is the third-largest telecommunications company in New Zealand, and fourth-largest in Australia. Annette Presley and Malcolm Dick (married at the time) founded the company in 1996. Presley, Dick, and Martin Wylie, former company secretary of Telecom New Zealand, are the company directors. In 2001, CallPlus launched Slingshot - an Internet Service Provider (ISP) focusing specifically on the residential market, positioning CallPlus as a business telecommunications company. Annette Presley
Annette Sylvia Presley (born 1964) is a New Zealand telecommunications entrepreneur, known as a co-founder of Slingshot, one of New Zealand's largest internet service providers (). Presley attended McAuley High School, and studied at the Auckland Technical Institute during the 1970s, described by one tutor as "our most successful dropout". She started her career in accounting, before switching to computer programming in 1980 after prompting from her father. Later she moved on to selling computers before launching an IT recruitment company, Stratum, in 1988. Future husband Malcolm Dick and Presley met at a golf function in the early 1990s. Orcon Limited (trading as Orcon) is a New Zealand telecommunications company. It is New Zealand's fourth largest Internet service provider (ISP). In 2013 it had a 5% share of the fixed line market. History Seeby Woodhouse founded Orcon by starting a small business (Orcon Group Limited) while at university in 1994. The startup provided computer advice and support, as well as selling early-model cell-phones and accessories. Demand led the business to expand its scope to include PC upgrade and repair services. Slingshot is the fourth largest telecommunications company in New Zealand. It has an approximately 16% market share of the New Zealand fixed telephone landline and residential broadband market. There are 300+ employees who all work in Auckland CBD. History Slingshot was founded in 1996 by Malcolm Dick and Annette Presley.
