California Court Case Management System
The California Court Case Management System (CCMS) is the court case management system intended for use by the several courts of the judiciary of California, which includes the Supreme Court, 6 Courts of Appeal, and 58 Superior Courts. Fees Pursuant to California Rule of Court 2.506 and Government Code Section 68150(h), courts may impose fees for the costs of providing access to its electronic records. Several superior courts do so, including Alameda, Los Angeles, Riverside, Sacramento, and San Diego, and the fees have been criticized by Thomas Peele as exorbitant and extraordinarily high, with the Alameda County Superior Court fees being the subject of a MoveOn.org petition. PACER (acronym for Public Access to Court Electronic Records) is an electronic public access service for United States federal court documents. It allows users to obtain case and docket information from the United States district courts, United States courts of appeals, and United States bankruptcy courts. The system is managed by the Administrative Office of the United States Courts in accordance with the policies of the Judicial Conference, headed by the Chief Justice of the United States. , it holds more than 500 million documents. MassCourts
MassCourts is the case management system used in the Massachusetts court system. It does not allow documents to be viewed online, and the courts have deliberately blocked public access to basic information for most cases (particularly, criminal cases in District Court and all cases in Superior Court). In June 2015, court judges heard consultation on a proposed revision to the policy that aims to make civil cases in Superior Court publicly accessible. Many journalists argued for a more open framework but critics of the proposal suggested that case filings containing libellous descriptions of witnesses could be used to discriminate against individuals. New York State Courts Electronic Filing System
The New York State Courts Electronic Filing System (NYSCEF) is the electronic court filing (e-filing) system used in the New York State Unified Court System. E-filing in criminal cases in the Supreme Court and County Court may be authorized by the Chief Administrative Judge, but it is unlawful for such documents to be made available to the public online through NYSCEF. CM/ECF (Case Management/Electronic Case Files) is the case management and electronic court filing system for most of the United States federal courts. PACER, an acronym for ''Public Access to Court Electronic Records'', is an interface to the same system for public use. History and associated applications CM/ECF was first implemented in 1996 in the Northern District of Ohio to handle a large number of asbestos cases. Pilot programs were implemented in the Western District of Missouri, the Eastern District of New York and the District of Oregon in late 1997.
