''Caliente'' ''(Hot)'' is a television music series that aired on Univision from April 8, 1995, to March 11, 2006, with 417 episodes. It was hosted by Charlie Bravo and Diana Franco, until Rafael Mercadante took over on March 1, 2003. It could be described as a sort of Latin Soul Train. Caliente featured some of the biggest names in Latin music including live segments from Celia Cruz and Daddy Yankee. The show was mostly shot in Miami, Florida, but the show also made tapings in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and others. Rafael Mercadante
Rafael Mercadante Mena (born Mexico Federal District, 15 May 1973) is an actor, television host, singer and radio DJ who has worked in both Mexico and the United States. In the 1990s he was cast in soap operas such as ''El Manantial'' and '' El Privilegio de Amar'', as well performing in films and plays. He later went on to host several television programs, and in 2007, won an Emmy Award after hosting "El Desfile de las Rosas" (The Rose Parade) for Univision, in Los Angeles, California. From 2000 – 2002, he presented a Mexican radio program, ''La Pijama'', and has also produced three albums, with songs in the Norteño and Duranguense genres. ''Soul Train'' is an American musical variety television show. It aired in syndication from October 2, 1971, to March 25, 2006. Across its 35-year history the show primarily featured performances by R&B, soul, and hip hop artists. The series was created by Don Cornelius, who also served as its first host and executive producer. Celia Cruz
Úrsula Hilaria Celia de la Caridad Cruz Alfonso (21 October 1925 – 16 July 2003), known as Celia Cruz, was a naturalized Cuban-American singer and one of the most popular Latin artists of the 20th century. Cruz rose to fame in Cuba during the 1950s as a singer of guarachas, earning the nickname "La Guarachera de Cuba". Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez (born February 3, 1976), known professionally as Daddy Yankee, is a Puerto Rican rapper, singer, composer, and actor. Allan Alfonzo Capps (April 26, 1939 – June 7, 2018) was an American record producer, arranger, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist. Beginning in the 1960s and 1970s, he produced and arranged albums for popular artists such as Cher, Andy Williams, Helen Reddy, José Feliciano, Vicki Lawrence, and Liza Minnelli, and delivered film music for more than twenty films.
