Calibro 35
Calibro 35 (caliber 35) is a cinematic funk Italian band formed in 2007 in Milan. The band has released seven albums and several movie soundtracks. Different songs from the band have been sampled into hip hop productions including Dr. Dre's "Compton (album), One Shot One Kill" and Jay Z's "Picasso Baby". Biography The band started in 2007 when Italian producer Tommaso Colliva and guitarist Massimo Martellotta invited Enrico Gabrielli, Luca Cavina and Fabio Rondanini to what was supposed to be a five days long one-off studio project re-recording obscure music from Italian exploitation movie soundtracks. The first self-titled ''Calibro 35'' album was released worldwide by Cinedelic Records in 2008. The album mostly contains re-works of 1970s soundtracks by the genre's maestros such as Ennio Morricone, Armando Trovajoli and Luis Bacalov but also first original compositions by the band. KCRW (89.9 MHz FM) is a National Public Radio member station broadcasting from the campus of Santa Monica College in Santa Monica, California, where the station is licensed. KCRW airs original news and music programming in addition to programming from NPR and other affiliates. Morning Becomes Eclectic
''Morning Becomes Eclectic'' (MBE) is a three-hour adult album alternative radio program first aired in 1977 and broadcast live every weekday from KCRW in Santa Monica, California. The show's name is a play on the Eugene O'Neill trilogy of plays, ''Mourning Becomes Electra''. The program was created by Isabel Holt. MBE was previously hosted by Tom Schnabel (July 1979 - November 1990), Chris Douridas (1990 - 1998), and Nic Harcourt (1998 - November 2008). Jason Bentley followed Harcourt as host in 2008. He announced that he was relinquishing his duties as Music Director and host of ''Morning Becomes Eclectic'' after 10 years on August 30, 2019. Jason Bentley
Jason Bentley (born July 27, 1970) is an American radio disc jockey of electronic music in Los Angeles, California. On December 1, 2008, Bentley replaced Nic Harcourt as the host of ''Morning Becomes Eclectic'' and as Music Director for KCRW. Previously he had hosted two radio programs: ''Afterhours'' on KROQ-FM, and ''Metropolis'' on KCRW, the latter for 16 years until November 28, 2008. Bentley and KCRW revived Metropolis in 2013; the show currently airs Saturdays in the 8PM to 10 PM slot. Bentley's family moved from Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood to Santa Monica when he was 13. Jason began his career at KCRW as a phone volunteer in July 1988.
