Caldicott School
Caldicott Preparatory School is a prep school for boys aged 7–13 in southern Buckinghamshire, England. About Caldicott Caldicott Preparatory School was founded in Hitchin, Hertfordshire in 1904 by James Heald Jenkins who named his school after his new bride, a Miss Theodora Caldicott Ingram. There were just eight boys. In 1938 the school moved to its present site in Farnham Royal in Buckinghamshire, and became a charitable trust in 1968 under the Headmaster at the time Peter Wright. Today there are around 250 boys. The school's governors include past parents, old boys and headmasters of public schools. According to the school's website, many pupils at Caldicott subsequently win places at major independent schools, such as Eton College, Harrow School, Lancing College, Oundle School, Winchester College, Stowe School, Tonbridge School, Marlborough College, Wellington College, Haileybury College and Radley College. Preparatory School (UK)
A preparatory school (or, shortened: prep school) in the United Kingdom is a fee-charging independent primary school that caters for children up to approximately the age of 13. The term "preparatory school" is used as it ''prepares'' the children for the Common Entrance Examination in order to secure a place at an independent secondary school, typically one of the English public schools. They are also preferred by some parents in the hope of getting their child into a state selective grammar school. Most prep schools are inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, which is overseen by Ofsted on behalf of the Department for Education. Radley College
Radley College, formally St Peter's College, Radley, is a public school (independent boarding school for boys) near Radley, Oxfordshire, England, which was founded in 1847. The school covers including playing fields, a golf course, a lake, and farmland. Before the counties of England were re-organised, the school was in Berkshire. Radley is one of only three public schools to have retained the boys-only, boarding-only tradition, the others being Harrow and Eton. Formerly this group included Winchester, although the latter school is currently undergoing a transition to co-ed status. Scott Baker (judge)
Sir Thomas Scott Gillespie Baker, PC, KC (born 10 December 1937) is a retired English Court of Appeal judge. Scott Baker is the eldest son of Sir George Baker, a former High Court judge who was President of the Family Division from 1971 to 1979. One of his brothers, Judge Michael Baker, KC, was the Resident judge at St Albans Crown Court. Scott Baker was educated at Haileybury & Imperial Service College, and studied at Brasenose College, Oxford. He was a member of Chorleywood Urban District Council from 1964 to 1967. He married Margaret Joy Baker on 10 February 1973. The couple has 2 sons and one 1 daughter. He was called to the bar at the Middle Temple in 1961, and practised in a range of legal areas, including family finance cases, and professional negligence. Common Entrance Examinations (commonly known as CE) are taken by independent school pupils in the UK as part of the selective admissions process at age 13, though ten independent schools do select at 11 using different test papers. Dulwich Prep London (DPL), formerly known as Dulwich College Preparatory School, is an independent preparatory school in Dulwich, south London, England for boys aged 3–13 years. The current Head Master is Louise Davidson. In 1938 headmaster John Leakey established an evacuation camp in the orchard on his father-in-law's land at Coursehorn, near Cranbrook, Kent, where the affiliated Dulwich Prep Cranbrook still is today. The school changed its name in September 2011 to Dulwich Prep London, having been previously called Dulwich College Preparatory School. Despite their close proximity and relationship, the school has no official link with Dulwich College, which has its own junior school for students between ages 7 and 13. East Wittering is a coastal village in the Chichester district of West Sussex, England. The majority of the village lies within the civil parish of East Wittering, while the western edge lies within the boundary of West Wittering civil parish. Simon Doggart
Simon Jonathon Graham Doggart (8 February 1961 – 23 July 2017) was an English first-class cricketer and headmaster. Born in Winchester, Hampshire, Doggart was educated at Winchester and Magdalene College, Cambridge. He represented Cambridge University as a left-handed batsman in 35 first-class matches between 1980 and 1983. He was awarded four blues. His grandfather Graham Doggart, great-uncle James Hamilton Doggart, father Hubert Doggart and uncle Peter Doggart all played first-class cricket.
