Calamornis
The reed parrotbill (''Calamornis heudei'') is a species of bird in the family Paradoxornithidae. It is found in Manchuria and eastern China and the Russian Far East. It is threatened by habitat loss. The northern subspecies ''C. h. polivanovi'' is sometimes regarded as a separate species, the northern parrotbill. Scientific name Either ''Calamornis heudei'', because it belongs to a subgenus family known as Calamornis, or ''Paradoxornis heudei'', because it's in the Paradoxornithidae family. Description The reed parrotbill species is known to have significantly short, wide, and deep bills. John Gould (; 14 September 1804 – 3 February 1881) was an English ornithologist. He published a number of monographs on birds, illustrated by plates produced by his wife, Elizabeth Gould, and several other artists, including Edward Lear, Henry Constantine Richter, Joseph Wolf and William Matthew Hart.
