Caity Mattinson
Caity Mattinson (born 17 May 1996) is a Scottish rugby union player who plays as a scrum half. After initially playing England she went on to represent Scotland at the Rugby World Cup and Commonwealth Games. Career England International Mattinson was born in Inverness, Scotland but was brought up in Northumberland in England due to her parents moved house when she was 3 years old. After developing through the rugby system in England she made her international debut for England in 2017. She plays her club rugby for Worcester Warriors. Scotland International Following a change in the international regulations Mattinson was able to make her debut for Scotland in February 2022. Mattinson was selected to play for Scotland at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in rugby sevens. Worcester Warriors Rugby Football Club is a professional rugby union club, based in Worcester, England, that is currently in Administration (law), administration and which has been suspended and will be relegated from Premiership Rugby, the top division of domestic rugby. Rugby sevens at the 2022 Commonwealth Games was held at the Coventry Stadium from 29 to 31 July 2022. A total of 16 teams competed in the men's tournament, while eight contested the women's tournament. South Africa won the men's tournament, while Australia won the women's. The 2021 Rugby World Cup was the ninth staging of the women's Rugby World Cup, as organised by World Rugby. It was held from 8 October to 12 November 2022 in Auckland and Whangārei, New Zealand. It was originally scheduled to be held in 2021, but was postponed by one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first women's Rugby World Cup to be hosted by New Zealand, and by a country in the Southern Hemisphere. New Zealand were also the defending champions.
