Caillou (character)
''Caillou'' () is a Canadian educational children's television series which aired on Teletoon (both English and French versions), with its first episode airing on the former channel on September 15, 1997; it later moved to Treehouse TV, with its final episode being shown on that channel on October 3, 2010. It was produced in Canada by the CINAR Corporation (later Cookie Jar Entertainment), In season 5, it was animated by the South African studio Clockwork Zoo. Based on the books by Hélène Desputeaux, it focuses on a four-year-old boy named Caillou who is fascinated by the world around him. A computer-animated reboot series is set to premiere on Peacock in 2023. Plot Caillou lives with his mother, father, and younger sister, Rosie. Hélène Desputeaux
Hélène Desputeaux (; born July 10, 1959) is a Canadian educator, writer and illustrator from Quebec. With writer Christine L'Heureux, she created and illustrated the character Caillou who appeared in a series of children's books and a television series. Early life and education Desputeaux was born in Quebec City, Quebec and received a Bachelor of Arts in visual arts from Laval University and a BEd from the Université du Québec à Montréal. Career Desputeaux has produced more than 100 children's books. In 1995, she received the Médaille Raymond-Blais for her body of work. Desputeaux and the publisher Éditions Chouette went to court to resolve a dispute over the ownership of the Caillou character. A Quebec arbitrator found that the character was jointly owned. This decision was reversed by the Quebec Court of Appeal, which found that the arbitrator could not rule on the question of copyright, but the appeal court's ruling was overturned by the Supreme Court of Canada. Dolby Pro Logic is a surround sound processing technology developed by Dolby Laboratories, designed to decode soundtracks encoded with Dolby Surround. Dolby Stereo (also known as ''Dolby MP'' or ''Dolby SVA'') was developed by Dolby in 1976 for analog cinema sound systems. The format was adapted for home use in 1982 as Dolby Surround when HiFi capable consumer VCRs were introduced. It was further improved with the Dolby Pro Logic decoding system after 1987. Frank Meschkuleit
Frank Meschkuleit (born 1962) is a Canadian voice actor, puppeteer and comedian known for his role as Toopy on the Canadian television series '' Toopy and Binoo''. Meschkuleit began his performing career as a mime, and broke into puppeteering with an audition for the 1979 film ''The Muppet Movie'' and parts in ''Don't Eat the Neighbours'' and '' Dragon''. He was also the suit performer for Junior Gorg in the fifth and final season of ''Fraggle Rock''. Meschkuleit performed a live comedy show called ''The Left Hand of Frank'', which was a hit at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival in 1994. Meschkuleit performed the show for 12 years, ending in 2005. Richard Jones (born c. 1957) is a Canadian voice actor, voice director, writer and content developer. Since 1982, he has worked with Fox, Disney, Universal, Hanna-Barbera, Alphanim, Cinar and Nelvana. Jones has been nominated for a Gemini Award twice in 1988 and 2003.
