Ben Cahoon
Ben Cahoon (born July 16, 1972) is a former professional Canadian football slotback who spent his entire career with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. He won the award for the Most Outstanding Canadian in the CFL two years in a row in 2002 and 2003. At the time of his retirement after the 2010 season, Cahoon ranked sixth overall in career receiving yards with 13,301 yards and the all-time leader overall in pass receptions with 1,017. He is also the all-time leading receiver in Grey Cup history with 46 receptions and 658 receiving yards. Sera Cahoone (born August 4, 1975) is an American singer-songwriter from Seattle, Washington. Cahoone's music combines elements of classic country-western and modern indie rock and lo-fi music. She works as a drummer, especially with the bands Carissa's Wierd and Band of Horses. Early life Cahoone is the daughter of Bill Cahoone, a Rocky Mountain dynamite salesman, and Judy Cahoone (née Ahrendts), a business executive. Cahoone said that she was raised by a single mother. Reynolds Cahoon
Reynolds Cahoon (April 30, 1790 – April 29, 1861) was an early leader in Latter Day Saint movement and later, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). He was one of the inaugural members of the Council of Fifty, organized by Joseph Smith in 1844. Early life Cahoon was born on April 30, 1790 to William Cahoon and Mehitabel Hodge Cahoon in Cambridge, New York. He married Thurza Stiles on December 11, 1810 in Newport, New York. The following year, Cahoon moved to Harpersfield, Ohio. He then served in the War of 1812. Cahoon and Stiles had four daughters. Cahoon worked as a farmer, tanner, and shoemaker. Richard Cahoon (October 1, 1905 — September 19, 1985) was an American editor of both film and television. During his career he edited over 40 feature films, and over a dozen television series. Kevin Cahoon (born July 21, 1971) is an American actor, director, writer, and singer-songwriter. Early life Kevin Cahoon was born on July 21, 1971, in Houston, Texas. Cahoon began his performing career at the age of six as 'The World's Youngest Rodeo Clown', performing throughout the Texas and Oklahoma Rodeo Circuits, including many consecutive seasons at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and the Texas State High School Finals Rodeo, resulting in a Letter of Citation from then Texas Governor Bill Clements. William Cahoon
William Cahoon (January 12, 1774 – May 30, 1833) was an American judge and politician. He served as a U.S. representative from Vermont. Biography Cahoon was born in Providence in the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations to Daniel Cahoon Jr (1737-1811) and Lillis (Dyer) Cahoon (1740-1832). He attended the common schools. He moved with his parents to Lyndon, Vermont in 1791 and engaged in milling and agricultural pursuits. He was a member of the Vermont State House of Representatives from 1802 until 1810. He succeeded his father as town clerk in Lyndon, and served from 1808 until 1829. Cahoon was a presidential elector in 1808 and voted for Madison and Langdon. He was appointed major general in the militia in 1808 and served during the War of 1812. From 1811 until 1819, Cahoon served as Caledonia County judge. Martha Cahoon (Jan. 11, 1905 – Dec. 7, 1999) was an American artist. She was the wife and business partner of artist, Ralph Eugene Cahoon, Jr. Early life Martha Farham was born in Boston's Roslindale neighborhood to Swedish immigrant parents, Axel Farham (1876-1946) and Elma (Ericson) Farham (1875-1956). She lived there until her family re-located to the seaside town of Harwich, Massachusetts in Cape Cod in 1915. Education Although by all accounts Martha was an excellent student she declined to attend college after her high school graduation, instead choosing to become a full-time apprentice to her father, who was a respected furniture decorator. Working under her father she quickly mastered the restoration and decoration of antique furniture and started to gain her own reputation as an adept craftswoman. The Cahoon Museum of American Art is an art museum located in Cotuit, Massachusetts. It features fine art, folk art and American art from the 1800s through the present. Public programs include a series of annual changing exhibitions, tours, artist's talks and workshops, and family activities. History The Museum's Historical building was completed between 1775-1782 by Zenas Crocker. Through its years it has been used as a home, a tavern, an art studio/ gallery, and renovated back into home. It is one of six Crocker homes situated off RTE 28 in present day Cotuit,MA. Ralph Eugene Cahoon, Jr. (1910 - 1982) was an artist and furniture decorator. Early life Cahoon was born in Chatham, Massachusetts in 1910 to a family directly descended from the first Dutch Settlers of Cape Cod. Growing up close to the Atlantic Ocean, young Ralph spent many of his days sailing, fishing, digging clams, and sketching the coast. As he grew older, clamming and fishing slowly became secondary to his burgeoning interest in art. By the time he attended high school, he had started to apply his artistic interest and talent by taking a correspondence course in cartoon drawing and even submitted works to his school paper. Ivan Wells "Tiny" Cahoon (May 22, 1900 – February 3, 1973) was an American football player and coach. He played professionally as a tackle for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL) from 1926 to 1929. He played college football at the University of Montana and at Gonzaga University. Biography Cahoon was born on May 22, 1900, in Baraboo, Wisconsin. He played college football under head coach Gus Dorais at Gonzaga, and was part of the school's undefeated team in 1924.
