Cahal Carvill
Cahal Carvill (born 22 April 1987) is a hurler who plays as a centre-forward at senior level for the Armagh county team. Carvill made his debut on the inter-county scene as a dual player for the Armagh minor teams. He played for several seasons in this grade, and won an Ulster Minor Football Championship medal as a Gaelic footballer, coming on as a late substitute in both the semi-final and final, and an All-Ireland medal as a hurler in the C competition. Carvill subsequently joined the Armagh under-21 hurling and football teams, winning an All-Ireland hurling medal at C level. By this stage he had also joined the Armagh senior hurling team, making his debut in 2006, and going on to win two Nicky Rackard Cup medals (the fourth-highest senior inter-county championship overall in hurling) and two lower National Hurling League medals. Middletown Eoghan Rua Gaelic Athletic Club, also known as Eoghan Ruadh (Owen Roe's), is a GAA club from Middletown, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. The club fields teams from under-10 level to senior level in Gaelic football, hurling and camogie; all teams use the club colours of black and white with the males playing with vertical stripes. Middletown has won many county championship and league titles, and has been successful in All Ireland club championships. The club plays at P.J. O'Neill Park ( ga, Páirc P.J. Uí Néill). Ulster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship
The Ulster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Ulster GAA Hurling Intermediate Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Ulster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the champion intermediate clubs and, in some cases, champion senior clubs in the province of Ulster in Ireland. The Ulster Intermediate Club Championship was introduced in 2004. In its current format, the championship begins in late October or early November and is usually played over a four-week period. The seven participating club teams compete in a straight knockout competition that culminates with the Ulster final for the two remaining teams. The winner of the Ulster Intermediate Championship qualifies for the subsequent All-Ireland Club Championship. 2005 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship
The 2005 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship was the 74th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament for boys under the age of 18. Tyrone entered the championship as defending champions, however, they were defeated by Down in the Ulster quarter-final. On 25 September 2005, Down won the championship following a 1–15 to 0–8 defeat of Mayo in the All-Ireland final. This was their fourth All-Ireland title overall and their first title in six championship seasons. The 2016 National Hurling League was the 85th season of the National Hurling League for inter-county hurling teams since its establishment in 1925. The fixtures were announced on 16 November 2015. The season began on 13 February 2016, and finished on 8 May 2016. Waterford came into the season as defending champions of the 2015 season. Kerry entered Division 1 as the promoted team from the 2015 season. Clare won the title for the first time since 1978 after a 1-23 to 2-19 win against Waterford in a replay. 2010 Nicky Rackard Cup
The 2010 Nicky Rackard Cup is the 6th annual third-tier hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The teams competing are Armagh, Fingal, London, Louth, Monaghan, Roscommon, Sligo and Tyrone. The 2009 champions, Meath were promoted to the Christy Ring Cup for 2010, and did not have the opportunity to defend their title. 2009 Lory Meagher Cup champions, Tyrone, were promoted to play in the Nicky Rackard Cup this year. Due to a disagreement over promotion and relegation from the All-Ireland series, no team was relegated from the 2009 Christy Ring Cup or 2009 Nicky Rackard Cup for the 2010 season. The Armagh Senior Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Armagh GAA clubs. Hurling has always been more popular in the north and west of the county.
