Caesar (band)
Caesar was a Dutch indie rock trio from Amsterdam, consisting of Roald van Oosten, Marit de Loos and Sem Bakker. The band was founded in 1994. Caesar released four studio albums, plus one retrospective release in 2006, ''Before My Band Explodes''. The band was stopped in 2008. They were named for Julius Caesar who is famous for being a Roman Dictator. History Early days In 1994 Roald van Oosten and Marit de Loos thought of starting a band together. Later that year Van Oosten met Sem Bakker. They discussed the idea that De Loos and Van Oosten have and Bakker agreed to join on bass. The fact that Bakker didn't play bass yet was seemingly not a problem. Thus Caesar’s line up was complete. After a mere month of playing together the trio released their first demo. The following year three more demos followed. The band was swiftly improving and Excelsior Recordings (then still known as ''(Nothing sucks like) Electrolux'') noticed. Caesars (band)
Caesars were a Swedish indie rock band from Stockholm, formed in 1995. In their native country, the band was originally known as Caesars Palace, a name which was changed to avoid conflicting with the name of the Las Vegas hotel. In the rest of Scandinavia they are known as Twelve Caesars. Career Outside of Sweden, the band are best known for the song "Jerk It Out", which was originally featured in the snowboarding video ''Afterbang'' in 2002, as well as the Electronic Arts video games ''SSX 3'' and ''FIFA Football 2004'', and on the PlayStation 2 game ''LMA Manager 2005''. The song also appeared in the Wii games '' Just Dance'' and ''Dance Dance Revolution SuperNova'', and in the Wii version of ''Samba de Amigo'' as downloadable content. Gaius Julius Caesar (; ; 12 July 100 BC – 15 March 44 BC), was a Roman general and statesman. A member of the First Triumvirate, Caesar led the Roman armies in the Gallic Wars before defeating his political rival Pompey in a civil war, and subsequently became dictator from 49 BC until his assassination in 44 BC. Eurosonic Noorderslag is an annual four-day music showcase festival and conference held in January in Groningen, Netherlands. The first three days of the festival (Eurosonic) feature artists from all over Europe, the last day of the festival (Noorderslag) features only Dutch artists. Alamo Race Track is a rock band from Amsterdam, Netherlands. They have released four full-length albums. History Early days (2001-2002) In 2001 the band ''Redivider'' lost keyboard player Diederik Nomden. The remaining members began what is now known as Alamo Race Track. They felt that Nomden's departure affected the band's sound, so they took on a new band name, Alamo Race Track. Under this name, David Corel, Guy Bours, Len Lucieer and Ralph Mulder started to record new demo tracks. After supporting Daryll-Ann on a tour in early 2002, Excelsior Recordings signed the band. Ghost Trucker plays alternative rock music with electronic flourishes. The band consists of Roald van Oosten (Caesar), Asta Kat (Seesaw, Zoppo), Ralph Mulder (Alamo Race Track), Rik Elstgeest (Kopna Kopna) and Jelte van Andel.
