Caerfarchell () is a small village in Pembrokeshire, Wales, 3 miles northeast of St Davids, close by the A487 road. It is in the community of St Davids and the Cathedral Close. Description Several houses are built around a small village green. In 2001 the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority drew up a conservation statement with the help of villagers. History It is believed the village originated in the 14th or 15th centuries. Early medieval burials have been recorded. An early 19th century farm building opposite the chapel is a Grade II-listed building and there are nine other listed buildings in the vicinity. St Davids
St Davids or St David's ( cy, Tyddewi, , "David's house”) is a city and a community (named St Davids and the Cathedral Close) with a cathedral in Pembrokeshire, Wales, lying on the River Alun. It is the resting place of Saint David, Wales's patron saint, and named after him. St Davids is the United Kingdom's smallest city in population (just over 1,600 in 2011) and urban area (the smallest city by local authority boundary area being the City of London). St Davids and the Cathedral Close is a community in western Pembrokeshire, Wales. It comprises the city of St Davids and its surrounding rural area.Ordnance Survey It was established in 1987. Geography The community occupies the northwestern tip of Pembrokeshire (including the westernmost point of Wales), in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, and includes a number of small settlements as well as the city of St Davids. The A487 road runs through it, as do a number of minor roads. Much of the community is elevated agricultural land and rocky coastline. Ramsey Island is part of the community. A487 Road
The A487, officially the Fishguard to Bangor Trunk Road, is a trunk road in Wales that follows the coast from Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, in the south, to Bangor, Gwynedd, in the north. Route The road starts at a junction with the A40 in Haverfordwest and travels northwest to St David's to switch northeast through Fishguard, Cardigan, Aberaeron, Aberystwyth, Machynlleth and Corris. Through the town of Fishguard, the road width in places is a very narrow single lane, leading to many traffic issues, especially with heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). From 2010, articulated HGVs were diverted from the section between Cardigan and Fishguard because of this, and routed instead via the A478 road to Penblewin, then the A40 to Fishguard via Haverfordwest. Community (Wales)
A community ( cy, cymuned) is a division of land in Wales that forms the lowest tier of local government in Wales. Welsh communities are analogous to civil parishes in England. There are 878 communities in Wales. History Until 1974 Wales was divided into civil parishes. Calvinist Methodist
Calvinistic Methodists were born out of the 18th-century Welsh Methodist revival and survive as a body of Christians now forming the Presbyterian Church of Wales. Calvinistic Methodism became a major denomination in Wales, growing rapidly in the 19th century, and taking a leadership role in the Welsh Religious Revival of 1904-5. Calvinistic Methodism claims to be the only denomination in Wales to be of purely Welsh origin, owing no influence in its formation to Scottish Presbyterianism.
