Cadillac Lyriq
The Cadillac Lyriq is a battery electric crossover manufactured and marketed by the Cadillac subdivision of General Motors. As Cadillac's first fully electric vehicle, and the first GM production vehicle using the BEV3 platform, the Lyriq introduces a new version of GM's Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system. General Motors BEV3 Platform
The GM BEV3 platform is a dedicated electric vehicle architecture or platform developed by General Motors. It is the third-generation electric vehicle platform by GM, and the architecture replaces the BEV2 platform. It is categorized as a skateboard platform. The BEV3 architecture was first announced by GM in January 2019, and was officially detailed on March 4, 2020, during the GM EV Day briefing in Warren, Michigan, and supports Ultium batteries and Ultium Drive motors. Concept Car
A concept car (also known as a concept vehicle, show vehicle or prototype) is a car made to showcase new styling and/or new technology. They are often exhibited at motor shows to gauge customer reaction to new and radical designs which may or may not be mass-produced. General Motors designer Harley Earl is generally credited with inventing the concept car, and did much to popularize it through its traveling Motorama shows of the 1950s. Concept cars never go into production directly. The Cadillac Celestiq ( ) is an electric car made by General Motors' Cadillac division. It will be its flagship sedan, replacing the Cadillac CT6, expected to begin sales for the 2024 model year. Overview Cadillac stated it plans to build the Celestiq by hand, investing US$81 million to create a low-volume production line at its Technical Center (GMTC) in Warren, Michigan. Since it was completed in 1956, only concept and show cars have been assembled at GMTC. The Celestiq will be the first vehicle sold to the public that was assembled at GMTC. Cadillac Provoq
The Cadillac Provoq is a concept luxury crossover vehicle that was revealed on 8 January 2008, and manufactured by Cadillac. It was introduced at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada and is powered by the plug-in hybrid technology first shown in the Chevrolet Volt. For extended range, a hydrogen fuel cell will recharge the Lithium-ion battery and a solar panel will power onboard accessories, such as interior lighting and the audio system. As the Provoq concept uses a hybrid powertrain it is based on the same GM Voltec platform as the Chevrolet Volt. The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), also known as the Detroit Auto Show as of 2022 and prior to NAIAS, is an annual auto show held in Detroit, Michigan, U.S., at Huntington Place.
