Cachorro
''Bear Cub'' ( es, Cachorro) is a 2004 Spanish comedy-drama film co-written and directed by Miguel Albaladejo. The plot follows a Bear (gay culture), bearish gay man who ends up looking after his nephew while his sister goes away to India and in turn makes him develop a fatherly bond with the boy, while forcing him to change his lifestyle. The Spanish word ''cachorro'' describes any young, furry animal such as a cub or puppy. Plot As a favor to his hippie sister who has gone off to India, Pedro, a gay dentist, has agreed to look after his nine-year-old nephew, Bernardo. Bernardo's father is dead and the boy and his uncle have not had much to do with each other until now. Originally, the boy was to stay with Pedro for a few days, but six weeks have passed with no word from the boy's mother. José Luis García Pérez
José Luis García Pérez (born 1972 in Sevilla, Spain) is an Andalusian actor in film, theatre, and television. He studied at the Centro Andaluz de Teatro (CAT). Perez portrayed the role of Pedro in the 2005 film ''Cachorro'', where he was nominated for a Goya Award for Best Newcomer. He has worked with Gerardo Herrero, Benito Zambrano, and José Luis Garci in film; and Blanca Portillo and Carlos Saura in theater. Perez was the founder and director of Quijotada, a show that has toured Spain and other countries. He runs his own company, "Digo Digo Teatro". Perez hosted the 39th Latin American Film Festival of Huelva. Pérez directed ''Vampiros'', which revolves around the story of Dracula. David Castillo Martínez (born 1992) is a Spanish actor. His breakout role bringing him popularity was his performance as Jonathan in the sitcom ''Aída'', aired from 2005 to 2014. Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival
Philadelphia QFest was founded in Philadelphia as the Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian Film Festival by TLA Entertainment Group in 1995. It was given its current name, QFest, in 2009. One of the festival's founders and current Artistic Director, Raymond Murray, describes QFest's mission as giving gay and lesbian audiences the opportunity to see films that accurately reflect their life experiences without the filter of the "straight" Hollywood system.
