Cabudwaaq
Abudwak ( so, Caabudwaaq) is a city located in central Somalia. It is the administrative seat of Abudwak district located in north Galgaduud province. It is mainly inhabited by the Marehan clan, in particular Reer Dalal, Siyad Hussein and other Marehan subclans. Transportation Air transportation in Abudwak is served by the Cabudwaak Airport. A major renovation of the facility was launched in 2011, funded by Somali expatriates from the province. The new airport's first scheduled flight departed on 11 October 2012. Galguduud ( so, Galgaduud, ar, جلجدود, it, Galgudud or ''Ghelgudud'') is an administrative region ('' gobol'') of Galmudug state in central Somalia. Its administrative capital is Dusmareb. The largest town in the region is Abudwak, which lies on the north-westernmost point of the region. Galguduud is bordered by Ethiopia, the Somali regions of Mudug; Hiran, Middle Shebelle (Shabeellaha Dhexe), and the Indian Ocean. The region of Galgaduud and southern half of Mudug formed the Galmudug State by 2016, which considers itself an autonomous state within the larger Federal Republic of Somalia, as defined by the Provisional Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Cabudwaak Airport
Abudwak Airport ( so, (Garoonka Diyaaradaha ee Caabudwaaq), is an airport serving Abudwak and nearby residents including across border, a highly populated town in the central Galguduud region of Somalia. It is also known as Caabudwaaq Airport. Overview The airport was formerly just a dirt airstrip near the town of Abudwak. A major renovation project was later launched in 2011, funded by Somali expatriates from the province. In June 2012, the Somali-American Women's Foundation (SAWF) also contributed $70,000 toward the facelift, after the airport's rehabilitation committee had approached it. The airstrip was gravelized by July 2012, and a new building was built by January 2013. According to a government official, all of the facility's sections have since been renovated and are available for use. However, the immigration wing is still being built as of October 2012.
