The Cabinet of Uruguay is part of the executive branch of the Government of Uruguay. It is composed of thirteen cabinet ministers. Each is appointed by the President of Uruguay, and serves as the head of a particular executive department. It meets on Monday mornings at the Executive Tower of Montevideo, but sometimes meets at the Suarez Residence or at the Anchorena Presidential Estate. Currently, the cabinet is formed by an electoral alliance, the Coalición Multicolor, under the administration of Luis Alberto Lacalle Pou. Cabinet ministers were sworn in on March 1, 2020, the same day the president took office. Azucena María Arbeleche Perdomo (born 29 September 1970) is a Uruguayan economist and civil servant who serves as Minister of Economy and Finance of Uruguay since March 1, 2020 under president Luis Lacalle Pou, being the first woman to hold that office. Martín Alejandro Lema Perretta (born September 6, 1982) is a Uruguayan lawyer and politician of the National Party, serving as Minister of Social Development since May 3, 2021. Lema was born in Jacinto Vera, Montevideo and attended Elbio Fernández School. Graduated from the University of the Republic, he served as Representative between 2015 and 2020. Javier Fernando García Duchini (born 28 November 1963) is a Uruguayan physician and politician of the National Party, currently serving as Minister of National Defense since 1 March 2020. García was elected as a representative on several occasions in 1994, 2004, and 2009. In 2014, García was elected Senator. Cabildo Abierto (Spanish for "Open cabildo" or "Town hall meeting") is a Uruguayan right-wing political party founded in 2019.
