C-group
The C-Group culture is an archaeological culture found in Lower Nubia, which dates from ca. 2400 BCE to ca. 1550 BCE. It was named by George A. Reisner. With no central site and no written evidence about what these people called themselves, Reisner assigned the culture a letter. The C-Group arose after Reisner's A-Group and B-Group cultures, and around the time the Old Kingdom was ending in Ancient Egypt. Overview While today many scholars see A and B as actually being a continuation of the same group, C-Group is considered as the product of Saharan pastoralist distinct. The C-Group is marked by its distinctive pottery, and for its tombs. Early C-Group tombs consisted of a simple " stone circle" with the body buried in a depression in the centre. The tombs later became more elaborate with the bodies being placed in a stone lined chamber, and then the addition of an extra chamber on the east: for offerings. Cgroups
cgroups (abbreviated from control groups) is a Linux kernel feature that limits, accounts for, and isolates the resource usage (CPU, memory, disk I/O, network, etc.) of a collection of processes. Engineers at Google started the work on this feature in 2006 under the name "process containers". In late 2007, the nomenclature changed to "control groups" to avoid confusion caused by multiple meanings of the term "container" in the Linux kernel context, and the control groups functionality was merged into the Linux kernel mainline in kernel version 2.6.24, which was released in January 2008. Since then, developers have added many new features and controllers, such as support for kernfs in 2014, firewalling, and unified hierarchy. cgroup v2 was merged in Linux kernel 4.5 with significant changes to the interface and internal functionality. Versions There are two versions of cgroups. Cgroups was originally written by Paul Menage and Rohit Seth, and mainlined into the Linux k ... Li & Fung
Li & Fung Limited is a Bermuda-incorporated, Hong Kong-based supply chain manager. In 2020, it was reportedly struggling to turn its century-old business around for years. On 13 February 2017, it was removed from the blue chip index: Hang Seng Index and replaced by Geely Auto. Between 2011 and 2020, it lost 95% of its market value with its turnover almost halving. The company was privatized in 2020. In 2020 the Fung family privatized the company with a 94 percent stock price loss (HKD 1.25) from its best performance back in 2011 (HKD 21.319). A massive restructuring took place after the privatization that reportedly reduced 70% of staff globally leading to employee protests at the entrance of the Hong Kong office and claims of unlawful dismissals in the Bangladesh office. The company has also been accused of not paying suppliers together with a long list of retailers. A few days prior to Li & Fung's use of a coupon step-up that was announced on August 12, 2020, Li & Fung ann ...
