Clubul Sportiv Progresul Șomcuta Mare, commonly known as Progresul Șomcuta Mare, is a Romanian football team based in Șomcuta Mare, Maramureș County, which currently competes in the Liga IV – Maramureș County, the fourth tier of the Romanian football, following the relegation at end of the 2021–22 season. History After four seasons of territorial championships ( fifth tier), fifteen seasons of County Championship and two lost promotion matches, in the 1996–97 season (0–4 with Victoria Carei) and 1997–98 season (2–4 with Electromureș Târgu Mureș), Progresul managed to promoted to 3rd division, without promotion play-off match, at end of the 1998–99 season. In the first season in Divizia C, Progresul finished 12th in the Series VI and reached the first round of Cupa României, where lost in front of first division side FCM Bacău, 0–1 after extra-time. The Liga 3, most often spelled as Liga III, is the third level of the Romanian football league system. Its name was changed from Divizia C to Liga III before the start of the 2006–07 season. CSM Satu Mare (football)
Clubul Sportiv Municipal Satu Mare, commonly known as CSM Satu Mare, or simply as Satu Mare, is a Romanian football club based in Satu Mare, Satu Mare County, currently playing in the Liga III. This team represents the football section of the multi-sport club CSM Satu Mare, which also include basketball, volleyball and handball sections. CSM Satu Mare was established on 18 July 2007 and is fully supported by the Municipality of Satu Mare. The football section of CSM was established only in 2018, after the second dissolution of Olimpia Satu Mare and was enrolled in the Liga IV Satu Mare. Goal difference, goal differential or points difference is a form of tiebreaker used to rank sport teams which finish on equal points in a league competition. Either "goal difference" or "points difference" is used, depending on whether matches are scored by goals (as in ice hockey and association football) or by points (as in rugby union and basketball). Liga IV Sălaj is the regional Liga IV football division for clubs in Sălaj County, România, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. It is organized by the County Football Association (Asociația Județeană de Fotbal) and is competed amongst 11 teams, the winner is promoted to Liga III after a promotion play-off. Clubul Sportiv Sportul 2007 Șimleu Silvaniei, commonly known as Sportul Șimleu Silvaniei, Șimleu Silvaniei or simply as Sportul Șimleu, is a Romanian professional football club based in Șimleu Silvaniei, Sălaj County. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Clubul Sportiv Municipal Sighetu Marmației, commonly known as CSM Sighetu Marmației, or simply as Sighetu Marmației (, is a Romanian football club based in Sighetu Marmației, Maramureș County, currently playing in the Liga III. History The club was founded in 1996 to continue the football tradition in Sighetu Marmației after the dissolution of CIL Sighetu Marmației, a team which played for many years in Liga II. On 13 May 2016 CSM Sighetu Marmației withdrew from Liga III and was dissolved. In the summer of 2019, after 3 years of inactivity, the football section of the sports club was refounded. 2019–20 Liga IV
The 2019–20 Liga IV was the 78th season of the Liga IV, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The champions of each county association play against one from a neighboring county in a playoff to gain promotion. This had to be the third season when the counties were divided into 7 regions, each consisting of 6 counties and the draw was made on 15 February 2019, with 4 months before the first matches. In the spring of 2020, most of the county leagues were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 11 May 2020, the Romanian Football Federation announced that the promotion format will be changed, especially due to the fact that no team (apart from the teams that were already excluded or dissolved) relegated from Liga III.
