''CPR'' is the first studio album recorded by Crosby, Pevar and Raymond (CPR). CPR's self-titled debut album came four years after David Crosby received a life-saving liver transplant. Featuring Jeff Pevar, renowned session guitarist and Crosby's son James Raymond, the trio crafted smart, heady, jazz-influenced rock that showcased their stunning harmonies. CPR (band)
CPR (also billed as Crosby, Pevar & Raymond) was a jazz-rock band consisting of the late singer-songwriter David Crosby (a founding member of the Byrds and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young), session guitarist Jeff Pevar, and Crosby's son, keyboardist James Raymond. The first song that Crosby and Raymond co-wrote, "Morrison", was performed live for the first time in January 1997. The song recalled Crosby's ambivalent feelings about the portrayal of Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone's ''The Doors'' (1991). The success of the band's initial 1997 tour spawned a studio album, ''CPR'', which was released in March 1998. Following another studio album, '' Just Like Gravity,'' in 2001, and several successful tours, the group disbanded in 2004. James Hutchinson (musician)
James Hutchinson (born January 24, 1953) is an American session bassist best known for his work with Bonnie Raitt. Though his work takes him nearly everywhere he primarily resides in Studio City, Los Angeles, CA and Haiku-Pauwela, Hawaii. Career Hutchinson has worked on hundreds of recordings with artists as diverse as Willie Nelson, Joe Cocker, Ryan Adams, Bryan Adams, Jackson Browne, Ruth Brown, Charles Brown (musician), Charles Brown, Al Green, B.B. Michael Bland
Michael Bland (born March 14, 1969) is an American musician best known as a drummer for Prince starting in 1989. He was with Prince during The New Power Generation era and played with him live and on albums for seven years. From 1995 to 1997, Bland, along with Sonny Thompson, recorded and played live with French pop star France Gall—they appear on one studio album and two live albums. In 2010, Bland became a member of Nick Jonas & the Administration (a side project of Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers) along with other former members of The New Power Generation, bass player Sonny T. and keyboardist Tommy Barbarella. Debra Dobkin
Debra Dobkin is an American vocalist, percussionist, music producer, and painter. Biography Early history Music and the fine arts have always played important roles in Dobkin's life. She was selected at age 6 for children's scholarship classes by the Art Institute of Chicago, and later attended the School of Fine Art at Washington University in St. Louis. Dobkin attended music school where she studied percussion and drumming. She draws and paints while recording music and touring. Dobkin moved to Los Angeles in 1976. Luis Conte
Luis Conte (born 16 November 1954) is a Cuban percussionist best-known for his performances in the bands of artists including James Taylor, Madonna, Pat Metheny Group, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Phil Collins, Rod Stewart and Shakira. He began his music career as a studio musician for Latin Jazz acts like Caldera. Conte's live performance and touring career took off when he joined Madonna's touring band in the 1980s. Leland Bruce Sklar (born May 28, 1947) is an American bassist and session musician. Sklar rose to prominence as a member of James Taylor's backing band, which coaleced into a group in its own right, The Section. This group of musicians so frequently supported many of the artists on Asylum Records, both on stage and in the studio, that they became known as Asylum's ''de facto'' house band.
