COP International
COP International, also shortened to ''COP Int'l.'', is a music label, based in Oakland, California. Initially, the label was founded in 1991 by Christian Petke (a.k.a. Count Zero of Deathline Int'l.) in Frankfurt, Germany. A few months later, Kim X, his girlfriend, opened a branch office in Oakland. The first label full-length release was the ''California Cyber Crash Compilation''. Most of the involved artists, such as Diatribe, Battery, Kode IV, Consolidated, Biohazard PCB (a.k.a. Contagion), Deathline Intl. and Switchblade Symphony, became very popular in the 1990s Electro-industrial scene. Battery (electro-industrial Band)
Battery was an American electro-industrial trio based in San Francisco. It consisted of vocalist Maria Azevedo and musicians Evan Sornstein and Shawn Brice. They released four albums on COP International between 1993 and 1998 before disbanding. History Battery was formed at Bennington College, Vermont, in 1989 by Shawn Brice, Stuart Scanlon and Evan Sornstein, beginning in an electronic music project for class. In 1991, the trio relocated to San Francisco, where they were adopted by COP Intl. In 1992, Stuart moved back to the East Coast, and Battery recruited vocalist Maria Azevedo who had stood in during a live show. COP International issued the band's debut album ''Mutate'' in 1993. Their second album '' nv'' released in 1995. It was followed by ''Distance'' a year later, which was a culmination of four months in the studio. It covered independent, underground and alternative music and multiple musical genres for an international subscription base. Its print run began in 1985 and ended in 1998. Razor Skyline
The Razor Skyline is an American, San Francisco, United States–based goth/industrial band. History Formed in Seattle in 1994, the band began life as Journal of Trauma and consisted of members Karen Kardell and the_gun. The chemistry was instant and the songs and shows quickly followed. It took less than a year and a half for the band (now a 3-piece with the addition of ioejekta on electronic percussion) to be signed to the C.O.P. International label and have their first CD recorded. However, the internet brought the band to the attention of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma who threatened to sue for copyright infringement as they published a medical periodical of the same name. The band changed their name to The RaZor Skyline but were allowed to use the name Journal of Trauma for their debut album. Pain Emission
Pain is a distressing feeling often caused by intense or damaging stimuli. The International Association for the Study of Pain defines pain as "an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with, or resembling that associated with, actual or potential tissue damage." In medical diagnosis, pain is regarded as a symptom of an underlying condition.
