Cloud-Native Network Function
A Cloud-Native Network Function (CNF) is a software-implementation of a function, or application, traditionally performed on a physical device, but which runs inside Linux containers (typically orchestrated by Kubernetes). The features that differ CNFs from VNFs (Virtualized Network Functions), one of the components of Network Function Virtualization, is the approach in their orchestration. In ETSI NFV standards, the Cloud-Native Network Functions are a particular type of Virtualized Network Functions and are orchestrated as VNFs, i.e. using the ETSI NFV MANO architecture and technology-agnostic descriptors (e.g. TOSCA, YANG). In that case, the upper layers of the ETSI NFV MANO architecture (i.e. the NFVO and VNFM) cooperate with a Container Infrastructure Service Management (CISM) function that is typically implemented using cloud-native orchestration solutions (e.g. Kubernetes). The characteristics of Cloud-Native Functions are: * Containerized microservices that communica ...

Belo Horizonte International Airport
Belo Horizonte/Confins – Tancredo Neves International Airport , formerly called Confins International Airport is the primary international airport serving Belo Horizonte. Since 2 September 1986 the airport is named after Tancredo de Almeida Neves (1910–1985), President-elect of Brazil. It is located in the municipality of Confins, in the state of Minas Gerais. It is operated by BH Airport S.A. History The airport was built by Infraero and inaugurated in 1984. Its purpose was to lessen the congestion at Pampulha Airport, which at the time was operating at 120% of its capacity of 1.3 million passengers per year. It was expected that by 1990, passenger movement at Confins would be nearly 2 million passengers per year. However, it surpassed the 1 million passenger mark only 22 years later. Presently its maximum operational capacity is 22 million passengers per year. After its inauguration, just a small fraction of the capacity of Confins was used. This was partly due to its dist ...

Chomsky Normal Form
In formal language theory, a context-free grammar, ''G'', is said to be in Chomsky normal form (first described by Noam Chomsky) if all of its production rules are of the form: : ''A'' → ''BC'',   or : ''A'' → ''a'',   or : ''S'' → ε, where ''A'', ''B'', and ''C'' are nonterminal symbols, the letter ''a'' is a terminal symbol (a symbol that represents a constant value), ''S'' is the start symbol, and ε denotes the empty string. Also, neither ''B'' nor ''C'' may be the start symbol, and the third production rule can only appear if ε is in ''L''(''G''), the language produced by the context-free grammar ''G''. Every grammar in Chomsky normal form is context-free, and conversely, every context-free grammar can be transformed into an equivalent onethat is, one that produces the same language which is in Chomsky normal form and has a size no larger than the square of the original grammar's size. Converting a grammar to Chomsky normal form To convert a grammar to Ch ...

Configuration File
In computing, configuration files (commonly known simply as config files) are computer file, files used to configure the Parameter (computer programming), parameters and Initialization (programming), initial settings for some computer programs. They are used for user application software, applications, Server (computing), server processes and operating system settings. Some applications provide tools to create, modify, and verify the syntax of their configuration files; these sometimes have graphical interfaces. For other programs, system administrators may be expected to create and modify files by hand using a text editor, which is possible because many are human-editable plain text files. For server processes and operating-system settings, there is often no standard tool, but operating systems may provide their own graphical interfaces such as YaST or debconf. Some computer programs only read their configuration files at Booting, startup. Others periodically check the configur ...

Conjunctive Normal Form
In Boolean logic, a formula is in conjunctive normal form (CNF) or clausal normal form if it is a conjunction of one or more clauses, where a clause is a disjunction of literals; otherwise put, it is a product of sums or an AND of ORs. As a canonical normal form, it is useful in automated theorem proving and circuit theory. All conjunctions of literals and all disjunctions of literals are in CNF, as they can be seen as conjunctions of one-literal clauses and conjunctions of a single clause, respectively. As in the disjunctive normal form (DNF), the only propositional connectives a formula in CNF can contain are and, or, and not. The not operator can only be used as part of a literal, which means that it can only precede a propositional variable or a predicate symbol. In automated theorem proving, the notion "''clausal normal form''" is often used in a narrower sense, meaning a particular representation of a CNF formula as a set of sets of literals. Examples and non-examples ...

Constant Weight Without Fins
Constant weight without fins (CNF) is an AIDA International (International Association for Development of Apnea) freediving discipline in which the freediver descends and ascends by swimming without the use of fins or without pulling on the rope or changing his ballast; only a single hold of the rope to stop the descent and to start the ascent is allowed. Constant weight without fins is the depth discipline of freediving that is most challenging, because of the physical effort needed to swim without assistance. Challenges The main differences between free diving disciplines that involve diving to depth and those that occur at the surface are: the dive cannot be interrupted, there are periods where work is performed and the diver is impacted by direct effects of pressure. Caucasus Nature Fund
Founded in 2007, the Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF), is a German non-profit organization that supports the protected areas in the South Caucasus countries of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. The fund's mission is to provide long-term funding for operating costs, improved management and sustainable development of the region's protected areas. The trust works through public-private partnerships with the three governments by matching, but not exceeding the State budgets. This ensures each side is committing long-term support for the protected areas. Headquartered in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, with program offices in Tbilisi, Georgia and Yerevan, Armenia, the trust supports 18 protected areas across the three countries. Caucasus Biodiversity Hotspot The Caucasus Ecoregion is one of the most biologically rich regions on Earth. Home to an unusually high number of endemic plant and animal species, it ranks as one of the world's biodiversity “hotspots" according to both Conservation I ...

Comité National Français
Free France (french: France Libre) was a political entity that claimed to be the legitimate government of France following the dissolution of the Third Republic. Led by French general , Free France was established as a government-in-exile in London in June 1940 after the Fall of France during World War II and fought the Axis as an Allied nation with its Free French Forces (). Free France also supported the resistance in Nazi-occupied France, known as the French Forces of the Interior, and gained strategic footholds in several French colonies in Africa. Following the defeat of the Third Republic by Nazi Germany, Marshal Philippe Pétain led efforts to negotiate an armistice and established a German puppet state known as Vichy France. Opposed to the idea of an armistice, de Gaulle fled to Britain, and from there broadcast the Appeal of 18 June () exhorting the French people to resist the Nazis and join the Free French Forces. On 27 October 1940, the Empire Defense Counci ...

Carbon Nanofiber
Carbon nanofibers (CNFs), vapor grown carbon fibers (VGCFs), or vapor grown carbon nanofibers (VGCNFs) are cylindrical nanostructures with graphene layers arranged as stacked cone (geometry), cones, cups or plates. Carbon nanofibers with graphene layers wrapped into perfect cylinders are called carbon nanotubes. Introduction Carbon has a high level of chemical bonding flexibility, which lends itself to the formation of a number of stable Organic and Inorganic Molecules. Elemental carbon has a number of allotropes(variants) including diamond, graphite, and fullerenes.Morgan, P. (2005) ''Carbon Fibers and Their Composites'', Taylor & Francis Group, CRC Press, Boca Raton, FL. Though they all consist of elemental carbon, their properties vary widely. This underscores the versatility of CNFs, which are notable for their thermal, electrical, electromagnetic shielding, and mechanical property enhancements. As carbon is readily available at low cost, CNFs are popular additives to comp ...
