CMX (band)
CMX, originally Cloaca Maxima, is a Finnish rock band. They originally played hardcore punk, but soon expanded to play a wide variety of rock formats, including progressive rock, heavy metal, and mainstream rock 'n' roll. Throughout their career, they have been influenced by progressive rock bands such as Rush, Yes, Tool and King Crimson. The progressive influence is most evident on their albums ''Dinosaurus Stereophonicus'' (2000) and ''Talvikuningas'' (2007). CMX have gradually gained large-scale mainstream following in Finland. They are especially known for the poetic lyrics of A. W. Yrjänä that often contain references to mythology and religion. Finnish rock magazines, particularly ''Rumba'', have named them Best Band of the Year multiple times, and even Best Band of All Time on one occasion. History Early years 1985-1990 CMX was founded on Good Friday 1985 in Tornio, Finland by A. W. Yrjänä (18 at the time) and Pekka Kanniainen. The band's original name, Cloaca ...

Pedot
Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT or PEDT; ''IUPAC'' name poly(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-''b''][1,4]dioxane-5,7-diyl)) is a conducting polymer based on 3,4-Ethylenedioxythiophene, 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene or EDOT. It was first reported by Bayer AG in 1989. Polymer PEDOT possesses many advantageous properties compared to earlier conducting polythiophenes like Polythiophene#3-Alkylthiophenes, 3-alkylthiophenes. For example, the polymer is Transparency (optics), optically transparent in its electrical conduction, conducting state and has high stability, moderate band gap, and low oxidation potential, redox potential. Its major disadvantage is its poor solubility, which is partly circumvented by use of composite materials such as PEDOT:PSS and PEDOT-TMA. The polymer is generated by oxidation. The process begins with production of the radical cation of EDOT monomer, [C2H4O2C4H2S]+. This cation adds to a neutral EDOT followed by deprotonation. The idealized conversion using peroxy ...

Kultanaamio
"Kultanaamio" is the second single from CMX's 1994 album ''Aura''. It also appears on the group's first compilation album '' Cloaca Maxima''. "Kultanaamio" means "Golden Mask" in Finnish. ''Helsingin sanomat'' published in 2007 the top 50 Finnish rock songs as voted by readers. "Kultanaamio" placed third after "Moottoritie on kuuma" by Pelle Miljoona and "Get On" by Hurriganes. The top 10 also included CMX's previous single, "Ruoste". Interpretation Music journalist Tero Valkonen wrote in 1998 an analysis of the lyrics of "Kultanaamio". It was published in Rumba magazine, 24/1998, as a part of a column series about important Finnish rock lyricists. Valkonen argues that, even though the song is disguised as a catchy pop tune, it conseals "an immense amount of disappointment, suffering and falsehood" that may not be instantly noticeable. Indeed, the song starts with the phrase "I hate you."

Cloaca Maxima III
In animal anatomy, a cloaca ( ), plural cloacae ( or ), is the posterior orifice that serves as the only opening for the digestive, reproductive, and urinary tracts (if present) of many vertebrate animals. All amphibians, reptiles and birds, and a few mammals (monotremes, tenrecs, golden moles, and marsupial moles), have this orifice, from which they excrete both urine and feces; this is in contrast to most placental mammals, which have two or three separate orifices for evacuation. Excretory openings with analogous purpose in some invertebrates are also sometimes referred to as cloacae. Mating through the cloaca is known as cloacal copulation, commonly referred to as cloacal kiss. The cloacal region is also often associated with a secretory organ, the cloacal gland, which has been implicated in the scent-marking behavior of some reptiles, marsupials, amphibians, and monotremes. Etymology The word is from the Latin verb ''cluo'', "(I) cleanse", thus the noun ''cloaca'' ...

Cloaca Maxima II
''Cloaca Maxima II'' (2004) is the second compilation album by the Finnish rock group CMX, released seven years after their first compilation '' Cloaca Maxima''.
