CMS Oissel
Club Municipal Sportif d'Oissel is a French sports club founded in 1968. The club is based in Oissel, Seine-Maritime and have teams for basketball, handball and association football. As of the 2020–21 season, their football team plays in the Championnat National 3. Their home stadium is the Stade Marcel Billard in the town, which has a capacity of 4,000 spectators. Grégory Tafforeau (born 29 September 1976) is a French former professional footballer who played as a defender. Career After eight years at Lille OSC, Tafforeau, along with club officials, chose to prematurely terminate his contract. Matthieu Louis-Jean (born 22 February 1976 in Mont-Saint-Aignan) is a French former footballer, who is currently head scout for Olympique de Marseille. He finished his career at Norwich in June 2005 after several seasons at Nottingham Forest, who he joined from Le Havre AC in 1999 following a loan spell. An experienced full-back, Louis-Jean made 198 league appearances for Forest. His transfer to Norwich was a player exchange deal that saw Gary Holt move to the City Ground. Louis-Jean made just two appearances for Norwich at the start of his first season with the club ( 2005–06) before injury problems ruled him out of action for the remainder of the campaign. Oissel () is a commune in the Seine-Maritime department in the Normandy region in northern France. Geography A suburban and light industrial town situated by the banks of the river Seine, just south of Rouen at the junction of the D18 and the D13 roads. Junction 22 of the A13 autoroute is entirely within the commune's borders. SNCF operates a TER rail service here. History The area around Oissel were a common place for Viking raiders because of its location on the Seine river, during their raids on Francia. Eventually, the Vikings setteled on one of the islands near Oissel and made it into a base, calling the island "Thorhólmr" meaning "Thor's Island".
