CMLL Super Viernes (February 2012)
In February 2012 the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) held four CMLL Super Viernes shows, all of which took place in Arena México on Friday nights. Some of the matches from Super Viernes were taped for CMLL's weekly shows that aired in Mexico the week following the Super Viernes show. The shows featured various professional wrestling matches with different wrestlers involved in pre-existing scripted feuds or storylines. Wrestlers portray either heels (referred to as "''rudos''" in Mexico, the "bad guys") or faces ("''technicos''" in Mexico, the "good guys") as they follow a series of tension-building events, which culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches. Professional wrestling is a form of theater that revolves around staged wrestling matches. The mock combat is performed in a ring similar to the kind used in boxing, and the dramatic aspects of pro wrestling may be performed both in the ring or—as in televised wrestling shows—in backstage areas of the venue, in similar form to reality television. CMLL Super Viernes (April 2012)
CMLL Super Viernes ( Spanish for "CMLL Super Friday") is the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre's banner event that takes place every Friday in Arena México in Mexico City, Mexico. The shows take place every Friday all year long, except when CMLL schedules a "Super Show" or a pay-per-view (PPV) to take its place since all CMLL PPVs and Super Shows take place on Friday nights in Arena México. Event history Founded in 1933 as Empresa Mexicana de Lucha Libre (EMLL) and renamed in 1990, CMLL is the world's oldest professional wrestling promotions still active today. Disturbio (born March 30, 1979) is the ring name of Israel Aguilar Alvarez, a Mexican ''luchador'', or professional wrestler currently working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) portraying a ''rudo'' ("bad guy") wrestling character. Aguilar is the husband of ''luchadora'' (female wrestler) Princesa Dorada ("Golden Princess"). Disturbio has formed a regular tag team with Bobby Zavala since 2011, although the team does not have an official team name. Boby Zavala (born February 12, 1991) is a Mexican ''luchador'', or professional wrestler. He is best known for working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) between 2011 and 2017, where he portrayed a ''rudo'' ("bad guy") wrestling character. He originally worked as a masked wrestler, or ''enmascarado'' called Licantropo, but adopted his current ring name in 2010 and unmasked. Tag team wrestling is a type of professional wrestling in which matches are contested between teams of multiple wrestlers. Tag teams may be made up of wrestlers who normally wrestle in singles competition, but more commonly are made of established teams who wrestle regularly as a unit and have a team name and identity. In most team matches, only one competitor per team is allowed in the ring at a time. This status as the active or legal wrestler may be transferred by physical contact, most commonly a palm-to-palm tag which resembles a high five. Just about any singles or melee match type can be adapted to tag teams; for example, hardcore tag team matches are commonplace. Lucha Libre
Lucha libre (, meaning "freestyle wrestling" or literally translated as "free fight") is the term used in Latin America for professional wrestling. Since its introduction to Mexico in the early 20th century, it has developed into a unique form of the genre, characterized by colorful masks, rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers, and "high-flying" maneuvers, some of which have been adopted in the United States, Japan, and elsewhere. The wearing of masks has developed special significance, and matches are sometimes contested in which the loser must permanently remove his mask, which is a wager with a high degree of weight attached.
