Critical Legal Studies

Cable Landing Station
A cable landing point is the location where a submarine or other underwater cable makes landfall. The term is most often used for the landfall points of submarine telecommunications cables and submarine power cables. The landing will either be direct (in the case of a point-to-point cable system) or via a branch from a main cable using a submarine branching unit. The branch can be several kilometres long. Selection criteria Cable landing points are usually carefully chosen to be in areas: # that have little marine traffic to minimise the risk of cables being damaged by ship anchors and trawler operations; # with gently sloping, sandy or silty sea-floors so that the cable can be buried to minimise the chance of damage; # without strong currents that would uncover buried cables and potentially move cables. CLS Group (for Continuous Linked Settlement), or simply CLS, is a specialized financial market infrastructure group whose main entity is the New York-based CLS Bank. It started operations in 2002 and operates a unique and global central multicurrency cash settlement system, known as the CLS System, which plays a critical role in the foreign exchange market (also known as forex or FX). Although the forex market is decentralised and has no central exchange or clearing facility, firms that chose to use CLS to settle their FX transactions can mitigate the settlement risk associated with their trades. Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class
The Mercedes-Benz CLS (initially called the CLS-Class) is a series of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz from December 2003 to August 2023. The original model was a four-door Sedan (car), sedan based on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Mercedes E-Class platform, marketed as a four door coupé. An Station wagon, estate (shooting brake) model was later added to the model range with the second generation CLS. All models are available as a high performance AMG variant, although it wasn't until the second generation CLS that 4MATIC all-wheel drive was offered. The CLS range is positioned between the E-Class and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, S-Class within the Mercedes model range, and models tend to be less practical than the E-Class it is based on. CLS Music
CLS Music is a Budapest based independent record label, founded in 2002 as CLS Records. In 2010, the company changed its name to "CLS Music" to reflect a shift in the company's focus from releasing records to more wide-scope musical management. The company is also a major redistributor of foreign independent and electronic music releases in Hungary. At the end of 2013, the CLS Music label was run by Egység Média Kft, founded by one of the owners of CLS Records in 2008. From the second half of 2013, Egység Média releases music under the Egység Média / CLS Music label. City of London Sinfonia (CLS) is an English chamber orchestra based in London. CLS is orchestra-in-residence at Opera Holland Park since 2004 and holds a residency at St Paul's Cathedral. CLS also performs regularly across the city of London in venues from East London clubs to traditional Central London concert halls. It is a registered charity under English law. The Canadian Light Source (CLS) () is Canada's national synchrotron light source facility, located on the grounds of the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The CLS has a third-generation 2.9 GeV storage ring, and the building occupies a footprint the size of a Canadian football field. It opened in 2004 after a 30-year campaign by the Canadian scientific community to establish a synchrotron radiation facility in Canada. Speedlight is the brand name used by Nikon Corporation for their photographic flash units, used since the company's introduction of strobe flashes in the 1960s. Nikon's standalone Speedlights (those not built into the company's cameras) have the ''SB-'' prefix as part of their model designation. Current Speedlights and other Nikon accessories make up part of Nikon's ''Creative Lighting System'' (CLS), which includes the ''Advanced Wireless Lighting'', that enables various Nikon cameras to control multiple Nikon flash units in up to three separate controlled groups by sending encoded pre-flash signals to slave units. Nikon's competitors like Canon and Ricoh use the similar name Speedlite for their flashes.
