CKRP-FM-1
CKRP-FM, branded as Nord-Ouest FM since 2020, is a Canadian French language community radio, community radio station that operates at 95.7 FM radio, FM in Falher, Alberta. The station was established in the early 1990s-via several temporary on-air samples-and signed in October 1996. From 1996 to 2017, it was operated by the regional Association canadienne-française de l'Alberta, ACFA. On November 21, 2017, it was announced that CKRP-FM would cease to operate. The station was relaunched under a new committee independent of the ACFA in 2019. Falher, Alberta
Falher (; , ) is a town in the Peace River Country, Peace Country area of Alberta, Canada. It is located in the Municipal District of Smoky River No. 130, along Alberta Highway 49, Highway 49. Falher is one of the earliest agricultural communities in the Peace River Country, and still acts as the commercial centre of the surrounding Municipal District of Smoky River No. 130, Smoky River Region, with which it shares much of its history. Falher is notable for its sizable Franco-Albertan, francophone population, having the List of francophone communities in Alberta, highest percentage of French speakers of any municipality in Western Canada, with 52% able to speak the language as of 2021. Peace River, Alberta
Peace River (originally named Peace River Crossing and known as in French) is a town in northwest Alberta, Canada. It is along the banks of the Peace River at its confluence with the Smoky River, the Heart River and Pat's Creek. It is approximately northwest of Edmonton and northeast of Grande Prairie on Highway 2. It was known as the Village of Peace River Crossing between 1914 and 1916. The Peace River townsite is nearly below the relatively flat terrain surrounding it. Pat's Creek used to be an open channel through the town but is now channelled through a culvert under the town streets, re-emerging at the mouth on the Peace River at the Riverfront Park. Canadian Communications Foundation
The Canadian Communications Foundation (CCF) was a Canadian nonprofit organization which documented the history of broadcasting in Canada, particularly radio and television networks, programs and broadcasters. The organization was established in 1967 and announced that it would begin wrapping up its work in 2023. Since 1995, the organization distributed its collection via its website. The CCF was established in 1967 by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. Its mission: to "commemorate throughout Canada the development of electronic communications".
