My Broadcasting Corporation is a Canadian broadcasting company founded in 2004 by Jon Pole and Andrew Dickson. Based in Renfrew, Ontario, the company operates a number of radio stations in small to medium sized markets in Ontario. All of its stations offer local news, weather, sports and community events seven days a week. CJML-FM is a radio station in Milton, Ontario broadcasting on 101.3 MHz. Owned by Local Radio Lab Inc., the station covers the immediate Milton area from its transmitter at X. The CRTC first received an application from My Broadcasting Corporation on May 27, 2015. On August 2, 2017, the station was finally able to sign on the air. It also receives co-channel interference east of Milton due to CJSA-FM in Toronto also broadcasting on the same frequency and also CKOT-FM in Tillsonburg. On April 8, 2020 the CRTC approved an application by My Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) to increase the average effective radiated power (ERP) from 228 to 480 watts (maximum ERP from 950 to 2,000 watts) and by changing the orientation of its directional antenna. CKMO was a radio station broadcasting on AM 900 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Branded as Village 900, it was the campus radio station of the city's Camosun College. History CAMO Radio was originally launched in 1973 as a closed circuit station on the Camosun College Lansdowne campus for the purpose of providing students in the Applied Communication Program (ACP) with practical on-air and station management experience. ACP and CAMO were founded by Kermit Carlson. In 1991, the student run CAMO Radio Society incorporated as a non-profit organization and began to prepare an application for a low-power FM licence. That licence was granted by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission in 1993. Orangeville, Ontario
Orangeville (Canada 2016 Census 28,900) is a town in south-central Ontario, Canada, and the seat of Dufferin County. History The first patent of land was issued to Ezekiel Benson, a land surveyor, on August 7, 1820. That was followed by land issued to Alan Robinet in 1822. In 1863, Orangeville was named after Orange Lawrence, a businessman born in Connecticut in 1796 who owned several mills in the village. As a young man, he moved to Canada and settled in Halton County. During Upper Canada Rebellion, Mackenzie's rebellion in 1837, he was a captain in the militia. Lawrence purchased the land that became Orangeville from Robert Hughson. He settled in the area in 1844 and established a mille. The post office dates from 1851. Orange Lawrence committed suicide December 15, 1861. In 1873, the Act of Incorporation was passed and Orangeville was given town status on January 1, 1874. CKOC (1150 AM) is a radio station in Hamilton, Ontario. Owned by Bell Media, it broadcasts a business news format. CKOC is a 50,000-watt, Class B station operating on a Regional (not clear-channel) broadcast frequency, with transmitters located near Empire Corners in Haldimand County, about 25 kilometers (15 miles) south of Hamilton.
