CKLM-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 106.1 FM in Lloydminster, Alberta/Saskatchewan. The station airs an active rock format branded as 106.1 The Goat. Licensed in 2000 to Peace River Broadcasting, the station was acquired by Stewart and Anita Dent (shareholders of Peace River Broadcasting) in 2001 through their numbered holding company 912038 Alberta Ltd. The station launched on May 18, 2001. The station added a rebroadcaster at Bonnyville on August 22, 2003, which subsequently became an independent station, CFNA, on September 28, 2007. The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission approved the stations' sale to the Vista Broadcast Group on November 21, 2008. CKLM
CKLM was a French-language Canadian radio station located in Laval, Quebec (near Montreal). It operated from 1962 to 1994. The station broadcast on 1570 kHz with a power of 50,000 watts full-time as a class B station, using a directional antenna with different patterns day and night (the nighttime pattern being significantly tighter). While the station's signal was not particularly impressive from a strictly local point of view, the station was received by many DXers in Europe and was considered there as one of the "easy" targets for Transatlantic DX. CKLM originally began with a variety format and identified itself as "the only unilingual French station in the world", referring to the fact that it only played French-language music (unlike most other French-language stations which played a significant amount of English-language music). CFNA-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 99.7 FM in Bonnyville, Alberta. The station airs a country music format branded as Country 99 FM. The station was originally launched in 2003 by 912038 Alberta Ltd. as a rebroadcaster of CKLM-FM in Lloydminster. It officially became a separate station with its own studios and program schedule on September 28, 2007. The station originally had an active rock format. The station was sold to Vista Broadcast Group on November 21, 2008. The music format was changed to Country by Vista Radio in early 2009, when the name was changed from "The Goat" to "The Wolf". Lloydminster is a city in Canada which has the unusual geographic distinction of straddling the provincial border between Alberta and Saskatchewan. The city is incorporated by both provinces as a single city with a single municipal administration. History Intended to be an exclusively British utopian settlement centred on the idea of sobriety, Lloydminster was founded in 1903 by the Barr Colonists, who came directly from the United Kingdom. At a time when the area was still part of the North-West Territories, the town was located astride the Fourth Meridian of the Dominion Land Survey.
