CKIA-FM
CKIA-FM is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Quebec City, Quebec. The station operates under a community radio licence and is owned by a non-profit group known as Radio Basse-Ville. It broadcasts on 88.3 MHz with an effective radiated power of 350 watts ( class A) using an omnidirectional antenna, broadcasting from Edifice Marie-Guyart in downtown Quebec City. CKIA-FM opened on October 31, 1984 and was originally on 96.1 MHz with a power of only 6.8 watts. The station had to move to a new frequency to increase its power; the move and the power increase took place in September 2001, and the station then began stereophonic transmissions. The 96.1 MHz frequency is now used by CBM-FM-2, a CBC Radio 2 station which is actually a rebroadcaster of Montreal station CBM-FM. FM broadcasting is a method of radio broadcasting using frequency modulation (FM). Stereophonic sound, or more commonly stereo, is a method of sound reproduction that recreates a multi-directional, 3-dimensional audible perspective. Transgender
A transgender (often abbreviated as trans) person is someone whose gender identity or gender expression does not correspond with their sex assigned at birth. Many transgender people experience dysphoria, which they seek to alleviate through transitioning, often adopting a different name and set of pronouns in the process. CBM-FM (93.5 MHz) is a public non-commercial radio station in Montreal, Quebec. It carries the English-language CBC Music network. Owned and operated by the government-owned Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, CBM-FM is a Class C1 station. It transmits from the Mount Royal candelabra tower with an effective radiated power of 100,000 watts, using horizontal polarization.
