CKFR
CKFR is a radio station in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Broadcasting at 1150 AM, the station airs news/talk and sports formats, and identifies on air as ''AM 1150 News, Talk, Sports''. It is owned by Bell Media. Current on-air talent include Phil Johnson, who hosts the ''AM 1150 Early Edition'' from 6-9am Monday to Friday. Throughout the day, Mike English, Regan Bartel, Calvin Hector read the news during the midday and afternoon newscasts. Regan Bartel, who started with CKFR in the fall of 2000, has been calling the play-by-play of the Kelowna Rockets on the radio station for 20 years. Telemedia
Telemedia was a Canadian media company, which had holdings in radio, television and magazine publishing. The company was launched in 1968 by Philippe de Gaspé Beaubien, when he purchased CKAC in Montreal from Power Corporation of Canada. CKAC remained the company's radio flagship for its entire existence. Telemedia was held privately until it became publicly traded in the late 1980s. Telemedia's magazine assets, including ''Canadian Living'', ''Harrowsmith'', ''Homemakers'' and the Canadian editions of ''TV Guide'' and ''Elle'', were sold to Transcontinental Media in 2000. Standard Broadcasting subsequently acquired Telemedia's broadcasting assets in 2002, and sold some of them in turn to Rogers Communications and Newcap Broadcasting. CHSU-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 99.9 FM in Kelowna, British Columbia. The station currently broadcasts a CHR/Top 40 format branded as ''99.9 Virgin Radio''. History CHSU traces its origins to 1995 when the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) granted Four Seasons Radio Ltd. a new FM licence for the Kelowna market offering country music. The stations initial call letters were CKBL and its branding was ''99.9 The Bullet''. Golden is a town in southeastern British Columbia, Canada, west of Calgary, Alberta, and east of Vancouver. History In 1807, David Thompsonrenowned fur trader, surveyor, and map-makerwas tasked by the North West Company to open a trading route to the lucrative trading territories of the Pacific Northwest. Salmon Arm, British Columbia
Salmon Arm is a city in the Columbia Shuswap Regional District of the Southern Interior of the Canadian province of British Columbia that has a population of 17,706 (2016). Salmon Arm was incorporated as a municipal district on May 15, 1905. The city of Salmon Arm separated from the district in 1912, but was downgraded to a village in 1958. In 1970, the city of Salmon Arm once again reunited with the District Municipality. Evan Solomon (born April 20, 1968) is a Canadian columnist, political journalist, radio host, and publisher.
