CIF North Coast Section
The North Coast Section (NCS) is a part of the California Interscholastic Federation, governing the eastern portion of the San Francisco Bay Area, up along the northern coast of the state of California, from Fremont in the south to Crescent City in the north. It also governs the private schools in the city of Oakland. Due to this split in regions, the section is split in two for some championships, including football. Governance The section is governed by a board of managers, whose voting members include representatives from member leagues, superintendents, school board associations and private schools. There are 155 full member schools, assigned to leagues or conferences according to NCS Alignment and Classification Bylaws developed by the schools. In addition, currently 20 schools have affiliated with the league to play as independents without the benefit of a league to guarantee opponents. Developing Virtue Secondary School
Developing Virtue Secondary School (DVSS, ) is a private Buddhist school located in the town of Talmage, California, and the first Buddhist high school founded in the United States. The school is part of the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, one of the biggest Buddhist monasteries in the Western Hemisphere, and is operated under the auspices of the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association. Community Although DVS is located in the United States, the students are predominantly Asian, many being from Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. San Marin High School
San Marin High School is a public high school located in Novato, California, in the United States. History San Marin High School opened in 1968 in Novato. Robert Vieth became principal in 2007, after the former principal was dismissed by the District's board, resulting in extended protests by parents, staff, and students.
