CHRD-FM (105.3 MHz) is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Drummondville, Quebec. It is owned and operated by Bell Media and has a directional antenna with an average effective radiated power of 3,257 watts and a peak effective radiated power of 5,345 watts ( class A). The station has specialized in adult contemporary format since August 2009 and is part of the "Rouge FM" network, which operates across Quebec and Eastern Ontario. It started out as CHRD 1480 kHz and moved to FM in 1997. From about 2001 to 2003, it was part of Astral's CHR network, "Énergie". It became an oldies station in 2003 as part of Astral's new " Boom" network; this format would last until it became "RockDétente" in 2009. All "RockDétente" stations, including CHRD, were rebranded as ''Rouge FM'' on August 18, 2011, at 4:00 p.m. EDT. It is owned and operated by Bell Media, and broadcasts on 92.1 MHz with an effective radiated power of 3,000 watts ( class A) using an omnidirectional antenna. The station has a mainstream rock format and is part of the "Énergie" network which operates across Quebec. The station was acquired by Corus Entertainment in 2001, and later by Astral Media in 2005, when Astral swapped its AM stations for Corus's smaller FM stations and adopting the "Énergie" branding at the same time. Boom FM
Boom FM is a branding of classic hits radio stations broadcasting in Canada. The trademark is owned by Bell Media, although only two stations using the branding are owned by that company. The name "Boom" is a reference to baby boomers, who are the main target of the network. History "Boom" was first launched on May 1, 2003 as a network of French-language oldies stations, and originally included CFEI-FM and CHRD-FM. CFVM-FM and CFZZ-FM joined the network in 2005 after these stations were acquired by Astral Media from Corus Entertainment. All four stations previously had an adult contemporary format. Rouge FM
Rouge FM is a network of French-language adult contemporary radio stations broadcasting throughout Quebec, Canada. Established in 1990 as RockDétente, they are owned by Bell Media. All "Rouge FM" stations broadcast in the same markets as Bell's mainstream rock network, Énergie, although Énergie also has a few stations in markets not served by "Rouge FM". Although the stations concentrate on French adult contemporary music, it would mix in English music as well, much like Cogeco's " Rythme FM" network, which has fewer stations than "Rouge FM". The flagship radio station is Montreal's CITE-FM. The Astral jingles on this network are different from the adult hits jingles used by Astral's English-language adult contemporary stations, nut the network uses a very relaxing acoustic tune. Drummondville is a city in the Centre-du-Québec region of Quebec, located east of Montreal on the Saint-François River. The population as of the Canada 2021 Census was 79,258. A bell is a directly struck idiophone percussion instrument.
