CHQM-FM (103.5 FM broadcasting, FM) is a Canadian radio station in Vancouver, British Columbia. It broadcasts with an effective radiated power of 100,000 watts from a transmitter on Mount Seymour and airs an adult contemporary radio format, format. It is western Canada's oldest and one of the most-listened-to commercial FM stations in Vancouver along with sister station CFBT-FM. It is owned by Bell Media. CHQM's studio is located at 750 Burrard Street in Downtown Vancouver. CHQM is now the largest adult contemporary station in Canada not locally owned, having overtaken from Montreal's CKBE-FM, CFQR-FM in February 2011 in radio, 2011 after that station switched ownership from Toronto's Corus Entertainment to Montreal's Cogeco. Bell Media Radio, G.P. (formerly CHUM Radio), operating as iHeartRadio Canada, is the radio broadcasting and music events subsidiary of Canadian media conglomerate Bell Media. The company has its origins in CHUM Limited, which was acquired by CTVglobemedia in 2006. CKST (1040 AM) is a radio station in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Owned by Bell Media, it broadcasts comedy-oriented programming, including stand-up comedy routines. CKST's studios are located on Robson and Burrard Street in Downtown Vancouver, while its transmitters are located in Delta. History CKST went on the air for the first time on January 19, 1963, in Langley as CJJC, broadcasting on its original frequency of 850 AM with 1000 watts of power and offering a country format. The station's original owner was City & Country Radio Ltd., headed by former CJAV and CKNW personality Joe Chesney. Move Radio
Move Radio is a brand of adult contemporary radio stations heard across Canada. The network was launched on December 27, 2020, by Bell Media. The launch of the network involved a re-branding of eleven radio stations across Canada, five in Ontario, four in British Columbia, one in Nova Scotia and one in New Brunswick. The launch of this network also involved the flipping of CJMG-FM's Top 40/CHR format to AC, as well the CHR format of CIBX-FM to hot AC. All stations adopted the slogan ''Today's Best Variety'', which is similar to other stations that use AC and hot AC formats, and have since then dropped their former brandings, including two stations with the "EZ Rock" brand. It is owned and operated by network parent Bell Media alongside Victoria-based CTV 2 station CIVI-DT, channel 53 (although the two stations maintain separate operations). 750 Burrard Street
750 Burrard Street (also known as 969 Robson Street, or "Robson Central") is a building in Downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, at the northeast corner of Robson Street and Burrard Street. The site was home of the main branch of the Vancouver Public Library from 1957 to 1995Vancouver historicplaces.caIn December 1996, Canada's first (and ultimately only) Virgin Megastore opened on the lower level; Virgin eventually decided to exit the Canadian market and sold the location to HMV in September 2005. Mount Seymour
Mount Seymour is a mountain located in Mount Seymour Provincial Park in the District of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is a part of the North Shore Mountains, rising to the north from the shores of Burrard Inlet and Indian Arm to a summit of above the Indian River and Deep Cove neighbourhoods. Mount Seymour is most commonly identified for its ski area of the same name, and as a popular hiking area. It is named in honour of Frederick Seymour, second governor of the Colony of British Columbia.
