''CHMA-FM'' is a radio station broadcasting at 106.9 MHz in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. It is a campus/community station functioning as the campus radio station of Mount Allison University and the community radio station of Sackville, New Brunswick. History On April 10, 1975, Attic Broadcasting Co. Ltd. (Mount Allison U.) received approval to operate a new AM radio station on 670 kHz at Sackville, New Brunswick. On August 12, 1985, Attic Broadcasting received approval from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to convert CHMA from the AM dial to the FM dial at 106.9 MHz. About Attic Broadcasting, which is the administrative body in charge of CHMA, is funded by the students at Mount Allison University and by community members. Sackville is a town in southeastern New Brunswick, Canada. It is home to Mount Allison University, a primarily undergraduate liberal arts university. Historically based on agriculture, shipbuilding, and manufacturing, the economy is now driven by the university and tourism. Initially part of the French colony of Acadia, the settlement became part of the British colony of Nova Scotia in 1755 following the Expulsion of the Acadians. Mount Allison University
Mount Allison University (also Mount A or MtA) is a Canadian primarily undergraduate liberal arts university located in Sackville, New Brunswick, founded in 1839. Like other liberal arts colleges in North America, Mount Allison does not participate in rankings primarily based on research, such as QS World University Rankings, QS. Shotgun & Jaybird were a Canadian indie rock band formed in 2003 in Dawson City and based in Sackville, New Brunswick. History Shotgun & Jaybird formed in mid-2003 when Frederick Squire, formerly of The Janitors, travelled to the Yukon and was later joined by his lifelong friend and former Janitor Jim Kilpatrick, from Ajax, Ontario. Within the band, Squire used the stage name "Dick Morello" and Kilpatrick used the stage name "Shotgun Jimmie". Along with Dom Lloyd, they played a weekly set at The Pit, and recorded ''Dawson Towne Recordings'' with Sandy Silver. Following the tour, they headed back to Sackville, New Brunswick. Two Hours Traffic was a Canadian indie rock band, based in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. They are named after a line in the prologue to Shakespeare’s '' Romeo and Juliet''. Critics have drawn comparisons to 1970s power pop band Big Star, but the band members tend to cite Nick Lowe as a prime influence. ''Ninja High School'' (also known as ''NHS'') is a comic book series created, written, and illustrated by Ben Dunn, and published by Antarctic Press (at one point being published by Eternity Comics).
