CHCR FM
CHCR-FM is a community radio station broadcasting at 102.9 FM in Killaloe, Ontario, with a repeater at 104.5 FM in Wilno, known as ''Canadian Homegrown Community Radio''. The station began broadcasting in 1998 at 102.9 FM and later added a rebroadcast transmitter at Wilno on 104.5 FM in 2003. In August 2023, it was announced that the radio station, CHCR-FM, is at risk of shutting down due to lack of volunteers. CHCR-FM is looking for volunteers to keep the radio station on the air. Killaloe, Ontario
Killaloe is a town located in Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada in the township of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards. Geographically it is located in Eastern Ontario. The shores of Golden Lake are located to the east, which is well known for quality angling and year-round recreation. The present day town is located about north of the former townsite of "Old Killaloe". In 2001, the town had a population of 660 (all data after that is available only for the overall township). Canadian Communications Foundation
The Canadian Communications Foundation (CCF) was a Canadian nonprofit organization which documented the history of broadcasting in Canada, particularly radio and television networks, programs and broadcasters. The organization was established in 1967 and announced that it would begin wrapping up its work in 2023. Since 1995, the organization distributed its collection via its website. The CCF was established in 1967 by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters. Its mission: to "commemorate throughout Canada the development of electronic communications".
