CHAI-FM is a French language, French-language Canada, Canadian radio station located in Châteauguay, Quebec, near Montreal. It broadcasts on 101.9 MHz with an effective radiated power of 100 watts (List of broadcast station classes, class A1) using an omnidirectional antenna. The station also operates a co-channel repeater, CHAI-FM-1 in Candiac, Quebec, Candiac, also on 101.9 FM. The use of two transmitters is in order to protect several co-channel and adjacent-channel stations in nearby areas, the closest being CIBL-FM and CINQ-FM in Montreal, plus co-channel CJSS-FM in Cornwall, Ontario. (CBMG-FM in Cowansville, a local repeater of CBME-FM that also broadcasts at 101.9, did not sign on until 2002.) Châteauguay
Châteauguay ( , , ) is an off-island suburb of Montreal, in southwestern Quebec, located both on the Chateauguay River and Lac St-Louis, which is a section of the St. Lawrence River. The population of the city of Châteauguay at the 2021 Census was 50,815, and the population centre was 75,891. History The land was first given to Charles Lemoyne by the governor of New France at the time, the Comte de Frontenac with the intention of setting up a seigneurie in the area. CINQ-FM
CINQ-FM is a multilingual Canadian radio station located in Montreal, Quebec. It broadcasts on 102.3 MHz using a directional antenna with an average effective radiated power of 1,285 watts and a peak effective radiated power of 2,335 watts ( class A). Its studios are located on Saint-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal. The station operates under a community radio licence and offers varied programming in seven different languages whereas all programmes are produced and animated by volunteers. It identifies itself as "Radio Centre-Ville". CINQ-FM opened on 27 January 1975; at the time the station was on 99.3 MHz and used only 7.5 watts of power. Delson is an off-island suburb ( South shore) of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is situated 8 mi/13 km SSE of Montreal within the regional county municipality of Roussillon in the administrative region of Montérégie. The population as of the Canada 2021 Census was 8,328. Lachine () is a borough (''arrondissement'') within the city of Montreal on the Island of Montreal in southwestern Quebec, Canada. It was an autonomous city until the municipal mergers in 2002. CBME-FM is an English-language Canadian radio station located in Montreal, Quebec. Owned and operated by the government-owned Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, it broadcasts on 88.5 MHz using a directional antenna with an average effective radiated power of 11,510 watts and a peak effective radiated power of 25,000 watts ( class B) from a transmitter atop Mount Royal. Cowansville
Cowansville is a town in south-central Quebec, Canada, located on Lac Davignon north of the U.S. border. It is the seat of Brome-Missisquoi, a regional county municipality. The population as of the Canada 2021 Census was 15,234. In recent years, Cowansville has seen its commercial activity blossom mainly due to its proximity to a major freeway, Autoroute 10, and the Eastern Townships ski resort region.
